Project Plan
Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI), with design/build partner RDG Planning and Design, has completed the West Concourse Renovation project at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium ahead of the Gator football home opener against Bowling Green State University. CPPI and RDG Planning and Design fast-tracked this project by utilizing an aggressive design and construction schedule. The project was designed and constructed to LEED Certified Gold standards.
The University of Florida’s goal for the West Concourse Renovation project was to improve the functionality and appearance of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for both game day and non-game day use. The project consisted of the initial demolition of specific areas, followed by a wide array of renovations, upgrades and updates. Crowd circulation areas were renovated to allow for more efficient movement during high traffic events while concession areas were expanded to allow for more points of sale, improved user service and new food items. Restroom facilities were upgraded, as were multiple lighting components of this area of the stadium, including the addition of ceilings with lineal lighting, vertical screening and graphics. Visual clutter such as overhead utilities has been reduced, and standard televisions have been replaced with high definition flat screen monitors for higher quality viewing while in the concourse area.
CPPI helped the University of Florida achieve their goals for this project on time and on budget. Construction services were provided by a wide range of local trade contractors, who ensured that the project was delivered at a competitive value while also stimulating the local economy.
The West Concourse renovations exemplify the University of Florida’s commitment to providing Gator fans with the highest quality experience at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. CPPI is proud to have successfully delivered another project for the University of Florida and the University Athletic Association. Go Gators!
