AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)

An AVCA All-Southeast Region and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honoree in 2013 for the second consecutive year…Additionally a Volleyball Magazine Third Team All-America selection…A 2013 All-SEC pick…Started 31 of 32 matches her second season as a Gator and played in 102 sets…Turned in 10 double-doubles her sophomore season, which ranked seventh in the SEC in the category…Boasted 3.28 kills per set in 2013, fourth among underclassmen in the SEC and second for the Gators…Scored 3.75 points per set for UF her sophomore campaign, second for the Florida squad (383.0)…Had season highs of 21 kills (Western Michigan) and 15 digs (at LSU and vs. FSU)…Tallied double-digit kills in 21 matches in 2013 and hit above .400 in six different matches…Had the second-most kills for Florida against opponents ranked in the top 25 at the time the Gators played them (3.44/s) during the regular season…Played with the Slovenian National Team in summer 2014 in European Qualifiers for Euro 2015…Had a team-leading 915 attacks her sophomore season in 2013…Posted a career-best five blocks at LSU Nov. 21, including two block solos and three block assists…Hit above .500 on four different occasions, including matches against New Orleans (.800), Iona (.500), Milwaukee (.500) and South Carolina (.500)…Had 24 service aces, including a season-best three service aces at South Carolina Nov. 13…Posted double-digit digs in 11 matches, including a season-best 15 at LSU Nov. 1 at against Florida State Dec. 6 in the NCAA Tournament Second Round…Ranked second for the Gators with her 2.59 digs per set, behind just UF’s starting libero Taylor Unroe (3.84/s)…Handled the third most receptions for UF in 2013 (408), turning in a .946 reception percentage.

Turned in one of the most decorated freshman seasons in the history of the program…Named AVCA National Freshman of the Year…Volleyball Magazine Third Team All-America…AVCA Honorable Mention All-America…AVCA All-South Region Freshman of the Year…SEC Freshman of the Year…First Team All-SEC…SEC All-Freshman Team, SEC Freshman of the Week (9/3, 10/29, 11/5, 11/26)…SEC Offensive Player of the Week (10/8, 11/12)…2012 Campus USA Credit Union Invitational All-Tournament Team…2012 Nike Big Four All-Tournament Tea …2012 Active Ankle Challenge Tournament MVP…Member of the 2013 Slovenian National Team…Served up a career-high four service aces in Florida’s 3-0 sweep of College of Charleston, tying for the second-most in a single NCAA Tournament match in program history…Led Florida with 13 kills in the Gators’ 3-0 sweep of Tulsa…Posted a team-high 12 kills with an assist, two services aces, seven digs and two blocks in the regular-season finale win over Georgia…Turned in her ninth double-double with a match-high 17 kills and 13 digs in the Gators’ victory at Auburn…Posted her eight double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs in UF’s 3-0 sweep of South Carolina to capture SEC title outright…Tallied 14 kills and 18 digs for her seventh double-double in Florida’s SEC-clinching win over LSU…Capped off another stellar weekend with a 15-kill performance against Ole Miss while also turning in a service ace and seven digs…Registered 17 kills and seven digs in Florida’s 3-0 sweep at Missouri…Had a career performance against Tennessee where she recorded the first 20 kill, 20 dig performance since Kisya Killingsworth in 2006 with 26 kills and 20 digs while adding three blocks…Tallied her fifth double-double of 2012 with 12 kills and a match-high 11 digs, adding three blocks in the Gators’ 3-0 sweep of Georgia…Put down seven kills with two blocks, and an assist in a win over Mississippi State…Led the Gators against No. 12 Florida State, recording her fourth double-double of the season with 16 kills and tied a season high with 15 digs along with two solo blocks…Totaled 13 kills, a service ace, nine digs and three blocks in a five-set win over Texas A&M …Led Florida with 14.0 points at Alabama, smashing 12 kills to go along with five digs and two service aces…Tallied seven kills, an assist, nine digs and a block in a win over Auburn…Recorded a match-high 17 kills in Florida’s 3-0 sweep of Ole Miss, adding five digs and two blocks…Put down 19 kills with two service aces and eight digs in a win over Kentucky…Registered a match-high 13 kills on .345 hitting with six digs and a career-high four blocks versus Arkansas…Added eight kills, nine digs and two blocks against Mississippi State…Recorded 17 kills and nine digs against South Carolina…Led the team with 15 kills against Missouri…Also notched 11 digs and a block against the Tigers…Made her SEC debut tied for a team-high with 13 kills against Arkansas…Also recorded an assist and 15 digs…Chipped in seven kills and three block against No. 24 Kentucky…Led the Gators in all three matches at the Active Ankle Challenge including a season-high 23 kills against Georgia Tech and hitting .417…Hit a season-high .619 with 13 kills against Jacksonville with a season -high three blocks and two services aces …Recorded 13 kills, two assists, and season-high 13 digs against Louisiana…Had a strong performance at the Nike Big Four as she led the Gators in kills in both matches against No. 2 Texas (22) and No. 9 Stanford (15)…Her 22 kills against Texas was a three- set best by a Florida freshman and third-best set in Florida history…Hit a .475 clip against Texas and chipped in five digs…Recorded four digs and two blocks against the Cardinal…Started in all three games of her Gator career at the Campus USA Credit Union Invitational…Had 12 kills and hit .455 versus both FAMU and FGCU…Recorded a block against FGCU…Had 12.5 points against both FAMU and FGCU…SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

 

PRIOR TO FLORIDA

A three-year member of the Slovenian Youth National Team (2006-09) and joined the Slovenian Junior National Team in 2009…Twice named the best young female volleyball player in Slovenia as a member of the Dolenjska regional team, which is a tournament of every Slovenian U-15 team…In 2007 and 2008, Recek and the Slovenian Youth National Team won the MEVZA (Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association) summer and winter tournaments…In 2009, Recek was promoted to the Slovenian Junior National Team and took eighth at the Junior European Championships in Serbia…As a part of her club team, Aliansa, Recek has two Slovenian Junior Championship titles and two Most Valuable Player honors under her belt, as well as three top-five finishes at the Slovenian Senior Championships (2009: 5th, 2010: 4th, 2011: 3rd)…Also an accomplished beach volleyball player…As a 13-year-old, Recek took second at both the U-16 and U-18 Slovenian Beach Championships…The following year, Recek had a banner season, winning the U-16, U-18, U-20 and U-23 Slovenian Beach Championships en route to a ninth-place finish at the U-18 European Beach Volleyball Championships in Greece…Began her career with the Slovenian Youth National Team at age 13.
