As a Sophomore (1997): Trained with the U.S. National A-2 team in Colorado Springs, Colo., following the season... named to the All-SEC first team, the AVCA all-district team and the NCAA Central Region all-tournament team...received the prestigious Jasper award for amateur athletes presented by the Otis F. Smith foundation...led the team with 15 double-doubles, including all four NCAA Tournament matches...racked up 17 kills and 17 digs in the national semifinal vs. Penn State... posted a career-high 25 digs in region final vs. Wisconsin...recorded double-digit kills in 27 matches, including 11 of the last 12 matches of the season...posted a then-career-high 22 digs and a season-high 23 kills vs. No. 17 Pacific at the Community Bankers Classic, where she was named to the all-tournament team...also named to the Wildcat Classic all-tournament team... posted double-digit kills in 20 of the last 24 matches and in 24 matches of the season...led the team and ranked fifth in the SEC in aces per game (.36)...ranked second on the team in digs per game (2.87) and third in kills per game (3.53).
As a Freshman (1996): First off the bench at the outside hitter position... played a career-match at Kentucky, racking up 24 kills and 11 digs, while hitting an impressive .541 (24-4-37) all then-career-highs...posted 12 kills in the SEC Tournament final vs. Arkansas, totaling 18 kills for the three matches... sparked the Gators to a 3-0 win at Florida State, coming off the bench to rack up 16 kills out of 27 attempts with only three errors for a .481 hitting percentage...recorded four aces vs. Georgia on Oct. 20...saw action in 35 of 39 matches, including all four NCAA Tourn-ament matches...finished the season ranked fourth on the team in kills per game (2.00), third in aces per game (.24) and sixth in digs per game (1.41)...recorded 158 kills and 111 digs on the season.
Prior to Florida: Led Middleburg High School to three conference championships (1993, 1994, 1995), two district championships (1994, 1995) and two berths in the Elite Eight in the Florida High School 6A State Championships (1994, 1995)... named First-Team all-state as a senior and all-First Coast as a junior and senior...was a three-time high school MVP and all-conference selection...voted the 1994 First Coast Player of the Year...set single season school records for kills (346), digs (194), blocks (86) and passing (472/527)... member of the 1994 U.S. Youth National Training team...played with 16-and-under Tampa Bay Juniors club team, which placed third at Junior Nationals in 1994...also lettered in basketball, helping the team to district championships as a sophomore and junior...in basketball, named to the all-First Coast second team as a senior and the all-conference team as a junior.
Personal: Has three brothers...brother Louis played baseball and football at Lenior-Rhyne in North Carolina, and she wears No. 16 because he was 16 years old when he started playing there...involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America...enjoys swimming and cycling... pre-match ritual includes a nap, shower and dance party in the training room...roommates for this year are brother David and Gator softball player Emily Marino...wants to be a Division I coach... exercise and sports science major.
