As a freshman (1999): Had arthroscopic knee surgery on her left leg Aug. 18...Will receive a medical redshirt for this season.
Prior to Florida: All-State selection each of her four years in high school...four-time team MVP... Volleyball magazine Fab 50 honoree...started varsity as an eighth-grader...Richmond Volleyball Club placed fifth at Nationals her senior year...also played softball, basketball and soccer...a three-time all-state selection and MVP in both softball and basketball...also received scholarship offers to other Division I schools in basketball and softball.
Personal: Born May 16, 1981...has a younger brother...chose Florida over Penn State, Arkansas and Hawai’i after seeing a live alligator on her official visit...favorite movie is "American Pie"...favorite vacations were going to the beach every summer with her grandfather who has since passed away...has two dogs...suitemate for this season is teammate Tammy Foxworth...best Halloween costume was with a group of friends that went as the cast from "Titanic," including an iceberg (Walker was Jack)...favorite gift ever received was her car...undecided major.
