Earned her sixth-career All-America honor with the 4x100m relay team at the NCAA Championships... Continued to battle a sore knee at the SEC Championships, ninth in the long jump... Ran the third leg of the automatic qualifying and Penn Relays winning 4x100m relay team (43.43 with A. Robinson, Shotwell and Benjamin)... Provisional qualifier in the long jump with a mark of 20-9 at the UTEP Invitational... Won the SEC Triangular Long Jump with a mark of 20-7.75... 2000 AS A SOPHOMORE: Won the indoor long jump championship... Entered the 2000 Pac-10 championships as the defending champion before hyperextending her knee... Did no t record a mark at the Pac-10 championships... On that sore knee, finished 20th in the long jump at the NCAA outdoor meet... Ranked as high as the sixth collegiate jumper with a wind-aided mark of 21-6.25.
1999 AS A FRESHMAN: Earned All-America honors three times at the NCAA outdoor championships... Placed seventh (20-11 3/4, tying personal-best, No. 5 in UCLA-school history, No. 16 in the U. S.) in the long jump and ran the anchor on UCLA's 4x100m relay that placed third (43.81, season-best, No. 5 in UCLA history) and the third leg on the Bruin 4x400m relay that was also third (3:29.41, school record)... Won the long jump (20-11I) at the Pac-10 championship meet and ran the anchor leg on UCLA's 4x100m relay that placed second (3:34.28)... Season-bests in the sprints of 24.29 (200m) and 54.09 (400m).
PREP: In 1998 as a senior, led the U. S. prep list in the long jump (20-10i, No. 15 on U.S. list and No. 11 all-time on U.S. prep chart)... At the World Junior Meet in Annecy, France, she won a gold medal, running the second leg (teammate at UCLA Shakedia Jones ran the anchor) on the winning U. S. 4x100m relay (43.52, American Junior record), and placing 10th (20-3H) in the long jump... Placed second (20-7Gw) in the long jump at the US Junior nationals... Won the NY State 200m title (24.15w) and captured her third consecutive long jump crown... Finished second at the National Scholastic Championships in the 100m (11.81)... Her best sprint marks as a senior prep star were 11.74 (No. 12 on the U. S. prep list), personal-best 24.15 (No. 20 on the U. S. prep list)... Track and Field News rated her No. 3 in the nation in the long jump in 1996, No. 2 in 1997 and No. 1 in '98... In 1998, she finished eighth in the T &FN Women's High School Athlete of the Year balloting... As a junior in '97, her top marks were a personal-best 11.40 (No. 14 all-time U.S. prep list), 24.2w and 20-9 (No. 2 on U. S. prep list), with a windy 21-6I... Was third at Junior Nationals in the 100m (11.50) and second in the long jump (20-9)... Won the Scholastic Outdoors 100m (11.70) and long jump (19-11)... Won the Scholastic Indoors long jump (18-11H) and was second in the 60m (7.34)... In 1996 as a sophomore, had wind-aided performances of 11.4, 23.5 and 21-3H (legal 20-2G, No. 2 on U. S. prep list) and indoor marks of 24.06 (No. 3 on U. S. prep list) and 19-6I (No. 5 on U. S. prep list).
