A transfer from Villanova University... National Champion in the indoor 3000m as a sophomore, and the country's runner-up in the outdoor competition in 1997... Two-time All-America in cross country and four-time All-America in indoor and outdoor track.
2000: Did not compete for Florida during the track season.
1999 CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in three meets for the Gators....Named team MVP by Florida's coaches at the end of the cross country season... Top finisher for Florida at the NCAA Championships, taking 57th overall in 17:42.20... Finished first for the Gators and seventh overall in the NCAA South Regional, earning her first selection to the All-South Region team...In the SEC Championships, she finished first for the Gators and sixth overall in 17:55.70. She was the first non-Arkansas runner to finish and the only member of either Gator squad to earn All-SEC honors... Was sidelined by tendinitis in her right knee for most of the season.
PRIOR TO FLORIDA: 1999: Placed fifth at the Big East Indoor 3000m in 9:37.45... Did not compete the rest of the year due to a foot injury.
1998 CROSS COUNTRY: A member of Villanova's national champion cross country team... Placed 69th at the national meet, fifth for the Wildcats, in 18:00.17... Finished eighth at the NCAA regional competition in 17:47... Took seventh at the Big East conference championships in 17:13... Finished ninth at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in 17:36.82... Also finished in the top 10 at the Paul Short Invitational, taking third.
1998 TRACK AND 1997 CROSS COUNTRY: Redshirted entire year due to illness and knee surgery.
1997: All-American in the outdoor 3000m, finishing second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in a personal best 9:05.04... Placed third overall in the 1500m run at the ECAC Championships (4:23.50) and earned an NCAA Automatic qualifying mark of 4:18.56 in the 1500m in the ECA trials... Also ran on the winning 4x1500m relay team at the Penn Relay Carnival running the fastest split of any relay leg... Big East Outdoor Champion in the 3000m (9:12.36, an NCAA automatic-qualifying time)... Placed fourth in the 1500m at the Big East Outdoor meet... Ran the mile leg (4:44) of the first place DMR squad at the Florida Relays... Third in the 1500m and sixth in the 800m at the Villanova Invitational... Won the indoor NCAA title in the 3000m in 9:14.14... Member of the Big East Indoor Champion DMR squad... Split 3:27.6 on the 1200 leg of the title-winning DMR... Placed third in the mile at the Big East Indoor Championships in 4:48.97... Won the 800m at the Greater Boston Invitational and the 3000m at the Butler Classic
1996 CROSS COUNTRY: Villanova's top cross country runner all season long... Competed in every meet but one, missing the Big East Championships due to a stomach virus for which she was hospitalized... Placed fourth at the NCAA Championships in 17:29... Recorded perhaps the biggest improvement of any athlete in the country at the meet, jumping from 26th as a freshman to fourth... Won the Iona Invitational in 17:39 (5k)... Placed third at the Walt Disney Classic (17:04.35), fifth at the Pre-NCAA Invitational (17:54) and first at ECAC's (16:26).
1996: Ran on the first place 4x800m relay and DMR, and placed fifth in the 1000m in 2:52.65 at the Big East Indoor Championships... Ran the 1200m leg of the second-place DMR at the NCAA Indoor Championships to earn All-America honors... Placed fourth in the 3000m in 9:29.92 and fourth in the 1500m in 4:21.97, while running the anchor-leg of the fifth place 4x800m relay at the Big East Outdoor Championships... Finished third in the 1500m in 4:25.76 at the ECAC Outdoor Championships... Ran 9:25.58 in the 3000m to place ninth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...Qualified for the World Jr. Track and Field Championships in Australia by placing second in the 1500m...Member of the second place 4x800m relay and fourth-place 4x1500m relay at the Penn Relays... Finished second in the 1000m in 2:50.89 at the Father Diamond Invitational... Finished third in the 3000m in 9:32.37 at the Nike Invitational... Won the 3000m in 9:51.20 at the Villanova Invitational.
1995 CROSS COUNTRY: Placed 26th at the NCAA Cross Country meet (17:49), fifth at the ECACs (17:19), ninth at Big East (17:55) and 16th at the Iowa State cross country meet... Also recorded a fourth-place finish at the Fordham Invitational.
PREP: Maryland state indoor mile and two mile champion, as well as state cross country champion during her senior year at Perry Hill High... Holds Maryland state Class 4A cross country and indoor Mile records... In 1995, finished third in the mile at the National Scholastic Indoor meet... Third in the high school 1500m at the Penn Relays... Baltimore Sun 1994 Cross Country Runner-of-the-Year... Graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
