2011 AS A JUNIOR: Wins: 3 (i) Nittany Lion Challenge 60m (6.79); Virginia Tech Elite Meet TJ (16.61m/54-6); SEC Indoor Championships TJ (17.36m/56-11.50) … Second at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the men’s triple jump with a leap of16.99m/55-9, as part of a 1-2-5, 22-point swing by the Gators in the men’s triple jump event … Claimed the SEC Indoor Championship in the men’s triple jump for the third consecutive season, setting the SEC meet record and the Randal Tyson Track Record with a personal-best and school-record leap of 17.36m/56-11.50 on his final attempt … Became the first athlete to win three consecutive SEC indoor men’s triple jump titles since Festus Igbinoghene of Mississippi State did so from 1988-90 … Became just the fourth athlete in SEC history to win three consecutive SEC indoor men’s triple jump titles … Led his team to a 1-2-3 sweep of the men’s triple jump at the 2011 SEC Indoor Championships … Eighth in the long jump at the SEC Indoor Championships with a season-best mark of 7.62m/25-0 … Also anchored Florida’s second-place 4x400m relay team at the conference indoor meet … Second in the men’s triple jump at the 2011 Tyson Invitational with a then-season-best mark of 16.77m/55-0.25 … Was also 10th in the men’s long jump at Tyson (7.60m/24-11.25) … Notched an NCAA automatic-qualifying mark in the men’s triple jump at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet (16.61m/54-6) to extend his then-NCAA Division I-leading indoor triple jump winning streak to six consecutive competitions … Also participated in the men’s 60-meter dash at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet … Placed second in the men’s long jump at the Texas A&M Challenge with a mark of 7.57m/24-10 … Won the men’s 60-meter dash at the Nittany Lion Challenge (6.79) to open the 2011 campaign.

 

2010 AS A SOPHOMORE: Topped the Track and Field News U.S. Rankings for the 2010 season in the men’s triple jump and ranked sixth on the long jump list … Captured both the men’s long jump and the men’s triple jump at the 2010 North American, Central American and Caribbean Under-23 Championships in Mirimar, Fla. … Placed second at the 2010 USA Championships in the men’s triple jump and was 12th in the men’s long jump …  Wins: 11 (o) Pepsi Florida Relays 400m (45.55);  Pepsi Florida Relays 4x400m (3:00.31); Tom Jones Memorial Classic LJ (7.51m/24-7.75); Penn Relays 4x400m College (3:05.40); SEC Outdoor Championships TJ (16.68m/54-8.75); NCAA Outdoor Championships TJ (17.09m/56-1w);  (i)  Kentucky Invitational 4x400m (3:06.40); Virginia Tech Elite Meet TJ (16.26m/53-4.25); SEC Indoor Championships TJ (16.83m/55-2.75); SEC Indoor Championships 4x400m (3:05.53); NCAA Indoor Championships TJ (17.18m/56-4.50)… Won the first NCAA Outdoor men’s triple jump championship in school history at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships, claiming the event with a 2010 American-leading mark of 17.09m/56-1 (+2.9) Fourth in the men’s long jump (7.77m/25-6) at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships … First in the qualifying round of the men’s triple jump (16.95m/55-7.50w) at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Greensboro, N.C. … Ran the third leg of Florida’s 4x400m relay at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds, which finished in a time of 3:02.75 … Became Florida’s first SEC outdoor champion in the men’s triple jump since Mike Sharpe in 1976, posting a winning leap of 16.68m/54-8.75 (-0.2) … Second in the men’s long jump at the 2010 SEC Outdoor Championships, recording the second-best leap in school history at 8.19m/26-10.50 (+0.9) to shatter his previous PR in that event by more than a foot-and-a-half … Ran the third leg of Florida’s 4x400-meter relay team that won the college final at the Penn Relays Carnival in a time of 3:05.40, nearly four seconds ahead of second-place TCU … Ninth at the Penn Relays in the men’s long jump championship (7.37m/24-2.25) … Won the men’s long jump at the Tom Jones Memorial Classic with a leap of 7.51m/24-7.75 (+1.5) … Fourth in the 200m at the Tom Jones Memorial in a time of 21.05 (+0.5) … The third leg of Florida’s school-record-setting 4x400-meter relay at the Pepsi Florida Relays, which clocked a time of 3:00.31 … Won the men’s 400-meter dash at the Pepsi Florida Relays (45.55) … Won the NCAA men’s indoor triple jump title for the second consecutive year, becoming the first athlete in school history to break the 17-meter plateau (17.18m/56-4.50) … Captured the event for the second consecutive season, becoming the first person to win back-to-back NCAA men’s indoor triple jump titles since Walter Davis of LSU accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002 … Second in the men’s long jump at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships after entering the meet ranked 13th in the nation, charting a season-best mark of 7.93m/26-0.25 … Won the 2010 SEC Indoor Championship in the men’s triple jump for the second consecutive year with a mark of 16.83m/55-2.75, which went down as the best triple jump mark in the nation at that point … Ran the second-leg of Florida’s SEC Championship 4x400m relay team (3:05.53) … Third in the men’s long jump at the 2010 SEC Indoor Championships (7.79m/25-6.75) … Sixth in the men’s long jump invitational at the Tyson Invitational (7.64m/25-0.75) … Recorded an NCAA automatic-qualifying mark in winning the men’s triple jump at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet (16.26m/53-4.25) …  Third in the men’s long jump at Virginia Tech (7.36m/24-1.75) … Ran on Florida’s third-place 4x400-meter relay team at the Texas A&M Challenge (3:06.72) … Anchored Florida’s 4x400-meter relay team at the Kentucky Invitational (3:06.40).

 

2009 AS A FRESHMAN: Wins: 10 (o) Pepsi Florida Relays 4x200m (1:21.68) and 4x400m (3:02.84); War Eagle Invitational long jump (7.72m/25-4); (i) Kentucky Invitational long jump (7.72m/25-4); Tom Jones Memorial Invitational 4x400m (3:07.68); Tyson Invitational long jump (8.02m/26-3.75) … SEC Indoor Championships long jump (7.71m/25-3.50), triple jump (16.11m/52-10.25) and 4x400m (3:05.82); NCAA Indoor Championships – triple jump (16.98m/55-8.50) … Placed third in the finals of the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn All-America honors (16.91m/55-5.75) … Was second in the triple jump championship at the Penn Relays Carnival with the second-best leap in school history (16.28m/53-5) … Won the long jump at the War Eagle Invitational (7.72m/25-4) … Third in the 400m (45.34) and part of the school’s winning 4x200m relay (1:21.68) and 4x400m relay (3:02.84) at the Pepsi Florida Relays … Won the men’s triple jump championship at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Championships (16.98m/55-8.50) … Earned three All-America honors after placing sixth in the long jump and leading off the men’s third-place 4x400m relay … Captured the Cliff Harper Trophy at the SEC Indoor Championships as the high-points scorer, as he was a part of three league championships – long jump (7.71m/25-3.50), triple jump (16.11m/52-10.25) and 4x400-meter relay (3:05.82) … Won the long jump with an NCAA automatic-qualifying mark at the Tyson Invitational (8.02m/26-3.75) … Also fifth in the triple jump at the Tyson (15.96m/52-4.50) … Part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational (3:07.68) … Won the long jump at the Kentucky Invitational in his first collegiate meet (7.72m/25-4).

 

HIGH SCHOOL/PREP: The 2008 Gatorade Athlete of the Year for the state of Georgia … The 2008 Track Man of the Year by the Atlanta Track Club in the triple jump … The 2007 Track Man of the Year in both the long and triple jumps by the Atlanta Track Club … Captured the Morris M. Bryan Memorial Trophy and the Bruce Yohe Award, given to the most outstanding male field athlete, from the Atlanta Track Club in 2008 … Was a member of state championship 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams the past two seasons … Helped team to back-to-back class 6A state championships in 2007 and 2008 … Holds the Georgia High School Athletic Association records in the long jump (25-6), triple jump (52-0) and 400m (47.19) …  At the 2008 National Scholastic Indoor Championships, finished as the gold medalist in the long jump, triple jump and 400m ... Also played football, with team advancing to the state playoffs in 2004 and claiming the Region 4A championship in 2004.
