2004 AS A JUNIOR: Best of 4.60M/15-1 (pole vault) ... Competed in six meets (two indoor, four outdoor) ... Finished fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.70m.15-5 at the FSU Dual Meet...Placed fifth in the pole vault at the USF Invitational, clearing 4.58m/15-00.25 ... HIGH SCHOOL/PREP: Was the 2000 3A Florida state champion in the pole vault (15-0) and runner-up in same event in 1998 (14-0) and 1999 (13-6) … Held high school record at 15-4 (has since been re-set at 15-8) … Finished 11th at the 2000 Nike Indoor Championships … Was the high school Division 2 champion at the 2000 Reno Pole Vault Summit and also won the event at the 2000 Mobile Meet of Champions … Competed in the 1999 Nike Indoor Championships, where he finished 11th … Most memorable track moment was winning states his senior year and having two of his teammates follow him, becoming the only team to ever finish 1-2-3 in the pole vault in Florida at the state championships … Admires Jeff Hartwig because he is an amazing athlete and is American's best chance at going over 20 feet in the vault … Also admires his father because he is a good man who takes care of his family.
