2013 Student Football Ticket FAQs

How can I get a student season football ticket this year? When do they go on sale?
UF Students who wish to purchase a season football ticket must register for the student season football ticket lottery by logging on to www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students and clicking on “Manage My Gator Student Account.” Online registration takes place from April 22, 2013 through July 18, 2013.

Students must log on to their account and pre-pay for their ticket in order to register. Those students who are not successful in the lottery will receive a full refund to their card after the results have been announced (typically 3-5 business days).

I am a senior at UF. Do I have a better chance at getting a ticket than a freshman?
Yes. The UF Student Football lottery will be based on a classification system. Students will be prioritized based on their UF credit hours earned and then be randomly selected from the pool of registered students. Students who have earned 90 or more UF credit hours have the best chance of being a winner of the lottery. These credits are those that each student has accumulated attending the University of Florida, not credits transferred from another school. Each classification category will be assigned an allotment of season tickets and will be sold within that category. There is no guarantee that every student within a classification category will be able to win the lottery and retain the ticket they reserved.

If you are unsure of the total number of UF credits you have, you may go to www.isis.ufl.edu to verify your current student status. Below are the categories based on UF credit hours:

Category 1: Students who have earned 90 UF credit hours or more
Category 2: Students who have earned 60 UF credits, but fewer than 90
Category 3: Students who have earned 30 UF credits, but fewer than 60
Category 4: Students with fewer than 30 UF credits earned (including all incoming freshmen and transferees)

How do I receive information on student season tickets?
Information regarding student season tickets will be available via www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students. Students are asked to visit this page online to find out all of the policies and procedures regarding student football tickets. Students will be responsible for knowing this information in the fall when football ticket distribution begins.
If you have any other questions, please contact the Gator Ticket Office at (352) 375-GoUF or 800-34-GATOR, extension 6878.

I’m unsure of how to log in. How do I go about doing this?
Every student in the registrar files should have an account already created, including new students. To log in to your Gator student account, you will need to do the following steps if you are unsure of your log in information:

  1. To retrieve your password, which is a randomly generated number, click on the “Forgot Your Password?” link and type in the e-mail address you have on file with the University of Florida. Your password will then be e-mailed to you.
  2. Log-in using your e-mail address on file with the University and your password number.
  3. If you are unsure of what e-mail address you have on file with the university or are having any other problems retrieving your password, please call the Gator Ticket Office at (352) 375-4683 ext. 6800. Please have your 8 digit UF ID number ready if you need to call.

I am not registered now for classes but will be in the fall semester. Am I still eligible to register for the lottery in hopes of being selected a winner and buying a ticket?
Yes. UF students do not have to be registered for classes to enter the lottery or order their tickets. However, undergraduate students will need to be registered for at least twelve (12) credit hours and graduate students will need to be registered for at least six (6) credit hours to pick-up their tickets in the fall. Students who do not meet this criterion should not enter the lottery for a ticket since they will not be eligible for ticket pick-up.

How do I know if I have won the lottery?
Once the lottery registration period closes the University Athletic Association will conduct a random lottery and notify all winners of the lottery via e-mail a week later.

If I am selected as a winner of the lottery, how do I actually purchase a season ticket?
By placing your order during the lottery period you have already paid for the season tickets. If you win the lottery you do not need to pay any more money and if you do not win the lottery you will receive a full refund.

How much are football season tickets?
Tickets are $90.00 (includes one ticket to all six home games).

How do I bring a non-student to a game?
To bring a non-student to a game, you must “Upgrade” a student ticket for non-student use. Upgrades are sold to students starting on Friday mornings before home games at 8:30 am. An upgrade cost $35, which is the difference between the price of a student ticket ($15) and non-student ticket ($50). Upgrades are limited in number and are only sold on Fridays.  For select home games we offer student guest tickets for $50 each.  These tickets would be located next to your student season tickets.

What if I need to buy additional tickets?
Any tickets beyond the student season ticket would need to be purchased as a general public customer through the Gator Ticket Office. These single game tickets will not be seated with student tickets. Single game tickets purchased through the Gator Ticket Office are subject to availability. Orders for these tickets will begin on May 3, 2011. Please call (352) 375-GoUF, extension 6800 to request information, as it becomes available in the spring.

Why is the lottery being used?
The lottery will give all students at the University of Florida a fair chance to purchase season tickets for football.

What is the student ticket allotment?
Florida students are allotted 25 percent of the stadium seating capacity .

Will I need my Gator1 ID to use my student ticket?
Yes. You will be required to present your valid Gator 1 ID along with your student ticket to gain admission to home football games.

What gates of the stadium are designated for student entry?
Gate 9 and Gates 12-15 will be used for student entry to home games. Because of this, students are encouraged to arrive earlier than usual in order to avoid delays associated with security and ID procedures. Students may enter at any of the 5 student gates, regardless of what gate their ticket has on it.

Who decided on the lottery process?
The UAA, in accordance with the UF Administration, UF Student Government and the student body, have decided to improve upon past processes and come up with a more fair and equitable system.

What if I do not have my Gator1 with me when trying to enter the game?
All students MUST have their Gator One ID card to enter the game. If you do not have an ID card with you, you will NOT be admitted.

Can I receive a refund on my student ticket if I do not attend UF next year or if some unforeseen event occurs to me?
All refund requests for student season tickets must be submitted in letter form by Thursday before the first game. There will be no refunds after this date, and if any tickets are picked up in the fall, you will no longer be eligible to get a refund for the season.

I am married. Can I purchase a season ticket for my spouse?
Married students entering the lottery who wish to be able to purchase a season ticket for their spouses must provide a marriage certificate to the Gator Ticket Office (MUST SUBMIT BEFORE ENTERING LOTTERY). Couples with marriage certificates on file by this date will also be eligible to purchase spouse tickets for all away games (including Georgia), Gator Growl and post-season play.
If the married couple are both students, you have two options:

  1. Submit the marriage certificate under one of your ID numbers and write both of your names on the certificate. The student whose ID number is not being used is not permitted to enter the lottery separately.
  2. Do not submit the marriage certificate and both enter the lottery independently.

Marriage certificates can be faxed to (352) 372-5801 or dropped off at the Gator Ticket Office, located between Gates 1 and 2 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Please be sure to write your eight-digit UF student ID number on the certificate. Single parents may also purchase a spouse ticket for their child (17 years and younger). A birth certificate is required for verification. Each eligible student is limited to submitting either a marriage certificate or a birth certificate - not both.

If you already submitted your marriage certificate, please call the Student Ticket Office at (352) 375-GoUF ext. 6878 to verify that we received it.

When do the away game tickets go on sale for students?
Away game ticket orders will be taken separately from season ticket orders! Tickets are sold on a "first to order" basis and are limited. Students do not have to be registered to order tickets (Please see Ticket Pick-up Procedure). You do not have to be a season ticket holder to order. You may order away game (not including Georgia) tickets beginning August 21, 2013 at 6 p.m. via www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students. These tickets will be distributed the week of the game, same as home games. This DOES NOT include the Florida-Georgia game tickets.

When do tickets for the Florida-Georgia game go on sale?
Tickets for this game go on sale Wednesday, October 9, 2013 @ 6:00 pm the link to the sale will be posted on www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students.
