Gator Boosters Recent Grad Program Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Gator Boosters Program for Recent UF Grads?
Football – This new program gives University of Florida graduates the opportunity to purchase and renew season football tickets at a reduced rate so that they can afford to become Gator Boosters and spend their Saturdays in The Swamp.
Basketball – A program for recent UF graduates that will allow individuals who were awarded a degree from the University of Florida in the last four years to purchase a 10-game men’s basketball ticket plan at a reduced rate.
- How do I know if I’m eligible?
The eligibility requirements for the program are listed here. If you graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral or Professional degree between May 2010 and May 2013, you are eligible. Individuals who are eligible for student football tickets will not be eligible for the Gator Booster program for recent UF grads.
- I am graduating at the end of summer/at the end of fall. What about me?
People graduating during or at the end of Summer or Fall 2013 will begin their eligibility window with the 2014 Gator Football season.
- When does my eligibility end?
Eligibility lasts for four football or basketball seasons after graduation, with the earliest eligibility beginning with May 2010 grads. If individuals decide not to sign up immediately following graduation, they are still bound by the window of four years since they were awarded a degree from the University of Florida. For example, if a 2012 graduate signs up starting with the 2013 Gator football season or Florida Basketball season, they will be eligible for three football or basketball seasons (2013, 2014 and 2015). For future summer/fall graduates, eligibility will begin with the following year’s football or basketball season (for example, a Summer 2014 grad’s eligibility will begin with the 2015 Gator Football or basketball season).
- How much will it cost me?
Football – For the 2013 Gator Football season, the cost totals $200 per season ticket. That is $150 for the season ticket ($25/game for 6 home games, discounted from $50/game for 6 home games) and a $50 minimum Gator Boosters contribution (discounted from $150).
Basketball – For the 2013 Florida Basketball season, the 10-game plan is $200. $150 ticket (10 home games) + $50 Booster Contribution
- How many tickets can I request?
Qualifying applicants to the Gator Boosters program for recent UF grads can request up to two (2) tickets.
- Can I request to sit with my friends?
Football – Yes, there will be a form on the ticket application with a seating request section. Should two (or more) applicants request to sit together, they must all qualify for the program and have purchased a ticket(s) within the program. Please note that tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so should you have seating requests, make sure everyone in the group signs up for tickets beginning at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, May 7.
Basketball – Recent Grad 10-game plan tickets will be sold as live seating online. Applicants wanting to sit together should coordinate their ticket purchase with their friends to ensure seating locations.
- Where will the tickets be located?
Football – There are 1,000 tickets available to recent UF grads who join this new Gator Boosters program, and all of those tickets will be located in Section 27 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. This section was selected because it is adjacent to the student section so that recent grads can still feel close to the action, but the tickets are all grouped together so that the young alumni are sitting together rather than with students. The student tickets that were originally located in Section 27 will be displaced to another section within the stadium.
Basketball – These tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis on the best available seats in the O’Connell Center.
- Can I keep my seats if I choose to renew?
Football – Yes. If you decide to renew your season tickets and stay in the Gator Boosters program for recent grads, then you can either (a) keep your same seats or (b) request an upgrade within Section 27.
Basketball – Yes. If you decide to renew and stay in the Gator Boosters program for recent grads, you will be able to do so. The plan may change next season depending on the 2014-15 men’s basketball game schedule.

- So if I’m in this program then I’m a Gator Booster, right?
Yes, this program is a contribution level within Gator Boosters. However, because the tickets and the minimum contribution level are offered at a reduced rate through this program, priority points will not be awarded until members transfer into another Gator Boosters contribution level. This transfer can take place during the offseason before renewal within the program and before the season ticket purchase deadline. If individuals in the recent grad program transfer into another Gator Boosters contribution level without any lapse in membership, then they will receive 30 priority points for successfully transferring into a higher Gator Boosters contribution level.
- If I’m a part of the program and decide to return to Florida to pursue another degree, am I eligible to sign up for this program again?
Yes, you will be eligible again after you graduate. However, you will NOT be eligible while you are pursuing your degree. Individuals eligible for student tickets are not eligible for the recent grad program.
