Spring: Played only dual matches this season ... won the final collegiate match she played, defeating Stanford’s Lauren Barnikow 6-2, 6-4 in the NCAA semifinals ... became the 15th Gator to win 100 career singles matches when she defeated Bethune-Cookman’s Natalia Kostova 6-1, 6-0 in the first round of the NCAA Championship (May 12) ... suffered a tough 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 loss against Georgia’s 62 nd -ranked Agata Cioroch (April 21) in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament - which gave the Bulldogs the clinching dual match win - after leading 5-4 in the second and serving at 30-0 ... posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Alabama’s Weyli Chang in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament (April 20) ... defaulted her match against Georgia’s 26 th -ranked Anne Nguyen when the match was on-serve in the third set because UF had clinched the regular-season victory, but Nguyen wanted to keep playing (April 8) ... forced to retire in the second set of her match against Tennessee’s Vilmarie Castellvi (March 23) after re-aggravating her injured knee ... had won eight consecutive matches prior to the Tennessee loss.
Fall: Did not play while rehabilitating her knee.

Spring: Provided the clinching doubles point in four of UF’s final five matches entering the NCAA Championships, including the come-back 9-8 (4) win over Georgia’s Christa Grey and Lori Grey against whom she and Scaringe rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the game scoring and then again in the tiebreaker to post a 9-8 (4) win ... in that thrilling comeback against the Bulldog duo, Hazlett, who was playing in her final regular season home match, hit an incredible drop shot volley for a winner on match point to seal the victory ... had a season-long 10 match winning streak snapped by Tennessee’s Crystal Cleveland & Alison Ojeda (March 23).
Fall: Paired with Julia Scaringe to reach the finals of the Hurricane Classic, losing to FIU’s Marina Faustellini and Anneliesse Rose for the title ... reached the semifinals of the ITA South Regional Championships with Scaringe, falling to South Alabama’s Martina Ojdrejkova and Viktoria Stoklasova 9-8 (5).
AS A JUNIOR (1999-00)

Doubles: Season-high ITA rank: 13 (Preseason with Whitney Laiho); Final rank: none; Primary dual match position: No. 3 (with Baili Camino)... provided the clinching dual match point (with Camino) in the thrilling 5-4 win at seventh-ranked Duke with a 9-7 victory over Sell and Granson... undefeated with Camino this season... paired with Erin Boislcair in two dual match victories at the No. 3 position, defeating Illinois’ Fazlic and Kunk 8-1 in the season opener and then Kentucky’s Rookledge and Trefethen 8-6 in the SEC opener.
AS A SOPHOMORE (1998-99)

Singles: Season-high ITA rank: 19 (Fall & March 9); Final rank: t-20; Primary dual match position: Nos. 3-4... earned bid into NCAA Singles Championships for the first time and advanced into the second round before losing to Tulsa’s Anousjka Van Exel 4-6, 6-4, 7- 5... defeated 17th-ranked Amanda Augustus from Cal 6-0, 6-3 in the first round... helped swing UF’s momentum in its NCAA semifinal battle with Duke, as she tied the team score at 2-2 after a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (6) win over Karen Goldstein... provided UF’s clinching team point in the 5-1 SEC Tournament semifinal victory over South Carolina’s Jennifer Radman with a gutsy 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6) win at No. 3... sported a team-high 21-match singles winning streak where she defeated six nationally ranked opponents... reached the semifinals of the ITA South Region Championships, where she upset three nationally ranked foes, including ninth-ranked Agnes Muzamel 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals, before losing to Gator teammate and 13 th -ranked Stephanie Nickitas 6-4, 6-4... versus nationally ranked opponents: 12-4... in three-set matches: 9-2.

PRIOR TO FLORIDA Stephanie Hazlett trained at the Palmer Tennis Academy in Tampa from January to March of 1997... lived and played in Queensland, Australia from April to May of 1997, where she competed in five to six tournaments, defeating a couple of players ranked in the top 200 in the world... champion of the 1995 Easter Bowl, considered the peak event for juniors... was the winner of the 1996 Western Close Championship... top 12 finisher in the Clay Court Championships in Memphis, Tenn... finished in the top 24 at the Hard Courts in San Jose, Calif... ranked No. 11 in the nation in the 18’s listing and No. 5 in the nation in the 16 and under group.
