Assistant Coach Dylan Mann

Dylan Mann enters his first season as assistant men's tennis coach at the University of Florida. The former Gator was hired in October after spending his post-graduate summer playing professional satellite tournaments.

Mann posted a 75-47 (.615) singles record in his four years at UF and a 71-38 (.651) doubles mark for a combined record of 146-85 (.632). The 146 combined wins and 71 doubles wins are both the seventh best totals in UF history. Mann had a strong senior year, posting a 22-11 singles record and a 24-6 doubles mark, helping the Gators advance to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in school history. Along the way, Mann posted straight sets singles wins over 46th ranked Anders Stenman of Ole Miss and 54th ranked Johan Hesoun of Kentucky.

Mann was also a member of the SEC's Academic Honor Roll and received his degree in Business Administration in May of 2000. During his time as a undergraduate at UF, Mann did worked as a teaching assistant for a third grade class at Idlywild Elementary school through the America Reads program and also works with the March of Dimes during the fall of 1998.

"I think that we're very fortunate to have Dylan," head coach Ian Duvenhage said. "He's very familiar with how our program works, having played here for four years. He's a very intelligent guy who not only understands the game of tennis but also understands what it takes to be successful at this level. He completely immersed himself in our program. He made a commitment to doing things the way we wanted him to do it, and even though his career didn't always turn out the way he wanted it to in terms of wins and losses, he really committed to our way of doing things. I think he's going to bring that same kind of commitment and work ethic. He works very hard. I know he'll do a great job."

Originally a native of Woodland Hills, Calif., Mann now resides in Gainesville.
