National/International Competition: Participated in the 2012 USA Olympic Team Trials in the 50 and 100 freestyle…Placed seventh in the 50 fly at US Nationals in 2013 … Finished third at the 2010 Summer and Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 fly.

 

At Florida

2013-14: Established herself as one of nation’s top sprinters after setting both of Florida’s sprint records at the NCAA Championships … Earned six All-American honors … Also part of four school records on relays at NCAAs … Finished fourth in the 100 freestyle behind a pair of Olympic gold medalists in a UF record swim of 47.40 … Won the ‘B’ final of the 50 free in a UF record time of 21.66, which ended up being the second fastest time recorded in the event … Was the first alternate in the 100 butterfly following a swim of 52.33 … Helped the Gators to 3rd in the 200 medley relay (1:35.42), fourth in the 400 medley relay (3:29.67), fifth in the 400 free relay (3:12.44) and ninth in the 200 free relay (1:27.54) … All four times were school records … At the SEC Championships, finished third in the 100 free (47.71), fourth in the 100 free (21.91) and fourth in the 100 fly in a season low 52.32 … Part of UF’s third place 400 free relay (3:14.11) and 200 medley relay (1:36.20) … Won 13 individual and 14 relay events during dual and invitational competition …  Set her career low in the 100 back (53.74) at the Ohio State Invitational and may explore swimming the event in postseason competition in the future … Named to the 2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

 

2012-13: Capped off a stellar freshman season with seven All-America honors to tie for the team lead…Set a UF school record in the 100 free with a time of 47.73 to finish third in the event, also won both consolation finals of the 100 fly (51.89) and 50 free (22.12) to finish ninth in both…Also swam as part of the school record setting 400 free relay…Named SEC Female Freshman of the Year after winning first SEC title at 2013 SEC Championships....Won the 100 fly in a personal-best of 51.70...Also recorded a third place finish in the 100 free with a NCAA A time 47.95, seventh in the 50 free (22.26) and swam as part of the school record setting 400 free relay and 200 medley relay...Won the 50 free (22.74) and 100 free (49.02) and took second in the 100 fly (53.56) in the win over No. 2 Tennessee...Against Auburn, finished second in the 50 free (22.95) and 100 fly (54.30) and was third in the 100 free (49.82)...Won the 200 free (1:48.70) and swam a personal-best time of 2:04.05 in the 200 IM against Florida Atlantic...At the Ohio State Invite: Was second in the 100 fly (52.76), third in the 50 free (22.52), fourth in the 100 free (49.87) and fifth in the 100 back with a personal-best 53.88...Also anchored the first place 200 medley relay that set a meet record...Finished first in the 100 fly (55.17) and tied for the top spot in the 50 free (23.14) against in-state rival Florida State...Took first in the 50 free (23.02) and second in the 100 fly (55.11) against Texas A&M...Swept the backstroke events, winning the 100 (55.86) and 200 (2:02.16) against South Carolina....Won the 100 fly (53.95) and finished second in the 50 free (23.00) at Georgia...Recorded a two top-four finishes with second in the 50 free (23.18) and fourth in the 100 fly (54.75) at the SMU Classic...Gathered a pair of victories in first meet as a Gator, winning the 100 fly (53.99), tied for first in the 50 free (23.19), took second in the 100 free (49.93) and was third in the 100 back (55.77) at the All Florida Invitational.

 

Prior to Florida: Attended Midland Senior High School where she was coached by John Bettina…2011 UIL Texas State Champion in the 100 fly…The No. 1 ranked recruit out of Texas and CollegeSwimming.com’s No.13 ranked recruit in the 2012 class…Named the Female Swimmer of the Class 5A 2011 meet…Broke two district records in 2011 in the 100 fly and back…Chose Florida over Southern California, Arizona and Texas…Parents are Melvin and Claudia Hinds and she has one sibling, Loren (23)…Majoring in Communications.
