National/International Competition: A member of the U.S. National Team…Chosen to represent the United States’ on its 2011 FINA World Championship Team in Shanghai, China…Captured her first individual World Championship in the 400-meter IM, touching in a personal- and program-best 4:31.78. The time also marked a new textile-best mark since the ban of non-polyurethane suits since Katie Hoff at the 2007 World Championships…Took fifth in the 200-meter backstroke in Shanghai, finishing in 2:08.16…Won three national titles at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in both the 200- (personal-best, 2:10.75) and 400-meter IM (4:34.78), as well as the 200-meter back (2:08.81)…Selected to represent the United States at The 2012 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, where she was one of five NCAA female swimmers on the 20-person roster. Finished third in the 400m IM (4:26.48) and sixth in the 200m back (2:04.57), en route to a 181.5-80.5 U.S. victory of the “European All-Stars”…Finished fourth in the A finals of the 400-meter IM (4:50.40), fifth in both the C finals of the 200-meter fly (2:18.20) and 100-meter back (1:04.12) and eighth in the 200 back (2:16.55) and 800-meter free (8:58.96) at the Charlotte Grand Prix in Charlotte, N.C…Won gold medals in the 200 back and 400 IM at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships…Finished first in the 200 back at the 2010 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships…Won a bronze medal in the 200 back at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy…The 2009 U.S. National Champion in the 400 IM and 200 back… Finished fourth as a 15 year old in the 200 IM and fifth in the 200 back at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing…Placed 12th in the 200 back at the 2007 World Championships and fifth in the 200 back at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships…A member of the U.S. National Team since age 13.

 

2011-12: Became the first Gator swimmer under head coach Gregg Troy and first since Tracy Caulkins in 1984 to be selected to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America ® Women’s At-Large First Team…Named to the Capital One Academic All-District IV At-Large Team…Claimed the first NCAA Championship of her career with a 1:50.58 performance in the 200 dorsal to record the 15th-fastest time ever, and to take home UF’s sixth title in the event…Earned a bronze medal for her efforts in the 400 IM with the third swim under four minutes in her career (3:59.37); helped lead the 800 free relay squad to a sixth-place finish and 400 medley relay to a 10th-place swim in the consolation final to earn four All-America honors at the 2012 NCAA meet in Auburn, Ala.,…Named the 2012 SEC Female Swimmer of the Year and Awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy (high point award) for her performance at the conference championships after earning four All-SEC honors…Was the lone swimmer at the conference meet to claim three individual wins, taking home gold each night of the meet…Becomes just the second swimmer in UF history to be named the SEC Female Swimmer of the Year, joining two-time honoree Gemma Spofforth (2009, 10)…Had a career performance at the conference championships; winning the 200 back in 1:49.82 –  for the second consecutive year – it was the fourth fastest time in NCAA history, and just the fifth swimmer to touch under 1:50.00 (Gemma Spofforth – 1:48.34, Elizabeth Pelton – 1:49.16, Natalie Coughlin – 1:49.52, Kate Fesenko – 1:49.92); defended her 2011 crown in the 400 IM and broke her own SEC record when she touched in 3:58.35 – the second fastest time in NCAA history and the first sub-4:00 effort of her career and claimed the 200 IM after she stopped the clock at 1:54.89…Broke the UF record in the 200 IM during the prelims at the conference championships (1:54.83)…Named the SEC Female Swimmer of the Week after she won a meet-high three vents at the double-dual against Michigan and Stanford as just one of two swimmers to post individual victories in both the LCM and SCY pool when she claimed the 400m IM (4:43.01), 400m free (4:14.70) and 200y backstroke (1:56.18)…Pushed Florida past Auburn winning all of her individual events: 100 back (1:03.16), 200 back (2:12.79) and 200 IM (2:17.59)…Won each of her individual events at the Dallas Classic with a sweep of the 100y (54.65) and 200y (1:54.44) backstroke as well as the 200y (1:58.77) and 400y IM (4:10.79)…Claimed three individual titles against top-ranked Georgia (LCM), taking the 400m free (4:!4.47), 800m free (8:43.25) and 100m back (1:03.96) – all in Olympic Qualifying Trial marks…Swam undefeated in all races against FSU and Arkansas, winning four individual and four relays through both dual competitions…Helped lead head coach Gregg Troy to his 12th consecutive top-10 finish at NCAA’s.

 

2010-11: Selected as a 2011 CSCAA Division I Scholar All-America Award Winner…Named the 2011 Female Freshman Swimmer of the Year for her efforts during the regular season and at the SEC Championships… Picked up five All-America honors at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas in the 200 back (1:51.60), 500 free (4:42.18), 400 IM (4:00.87), 800 FR and an honorable mention for contributing to the Gators’ 400-yard medley relay…Finished second in the 400 IM, third in the 200 back, eighth in the 500 free and contributed to the Gators’ fifth place finish in the 800 FR in her first NCAA Championships…One of only three freshmen in the country to place in the finals of three individual events at the 2011 NCAA Championships…Garnered a team-best six All-SEC selections, to lead the women’s team, including two First Team honors in the 200 back and 400 IM, one Second Team honor in the 800 FR and three All-Freshman nods in the 200 back, 500 free and 400 IM…Collected two crowns in her first SEC Championships in the 200 back (1:51.55) and the 400 IM (4:00.83), as well as a silver and bronze medal in the program’s, record-breaking 800 FR team (6:59.10) and 500 free (4:37.74) respectively…The only freshman in SEC history to be named the SEC Female Swimmer of the Week four times in a single season, and becomes the third swimmer in the conference to win the award four times over all… Named the Counsilman-Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 2-8, 2010 after capturing all four of her individual events with NCAA provisional marks against Stanford and Michigan in a double-dual meet… tallied a women’s team-high 27 victories with 24 individual and three relay titles…stamped her name in the record books after breaking two Orange and Blue records in the 400 IM (4:00.83) and as a part of the 800 FR (6:59.10)…Her record breaking time in the 400 IM was both an O’Connell Center Pool and SEC Championships Record recorded on Feb. 18…On Nov. 5, broke the Avery Aquatics Center pool record by over a second when she finished the 200 back in 1:54.27…After her freshman campaign, her name appears at the top of the women’s yards all-time top-10 list in both the  400-yard IM (4:00.83), 800-yard FR (6:59.10)…Nominated by USA Swimming for the Golden Goggle Awards as the 2010 Female Athlete of the Year…Helped lead head coach Gregg Troy to his 11th consecutive top-10 finish at NCAA’s.

 

Prior to Florida: Graduated from North Kingstown High School, where she trained with Bluefish Swim Club under head coach Chuck Batchelor A six-star recruit by SwimmingWorldMagazine.com…Her top time in high school in the 400 IM (4:04.59) would have been in the A final at the 2009 NCAA meet, while her 500 free time of 4:40.42 would have made the B final… A four-year honor roll student.
