National/International Competition: Competed at the 2004 Olympic trials in the 400 IM prelims with a time of 4:51.97 for 16th place as well as the 200 IM prelims with a time of 2:19.51 for 21st place, and took 23rd in 2:16.18 in the 200 fly … Swam a career-best time in the 200 fly (2:18.26) at the 2004 USA Spring Nationals (2/11) … Finished fifth (C) in the 200 fly (2:19.43) and sixth (C) in the 400 IM (4:59.19) at the 2003 U.S. Open (12/4-6) ... Took third at the Texas Senior Circuit Championships, with a 400 IM finals time of 4:55.46, also finished 10th with a 400 free prelim time of 4:26.65, then swam the 400 free finals in 4:21.59 for 10th-place, also earned fifth in the 200 fly (2:20.22), took 10th in the 200 IM prelims (2:23.12) and clocked 2:05.89 for 14th place in the 200 free.
