National/International Competition: Selected to compete at the 2003 World Championships, but declined to fulfill graduation requirements...Selected for the 2002 Commonwealth games but withdrew due to an injury...Took fourth place in the 50-meter butterfly (28.24) and 50-meter backstroke (29.91) to claim ninth overall at the 2001 Goodwill Games at Brisbane, Australia.

At Florida:
2002-03:
Earned six All-America honors in the 100-yard backstroke, 100- and 200-yard butterfly, 200- and 400-yard medley relays and the 400-yard freestyle relay...Earned five All-SEC honors in the 100- and 200-fly and as a member of three relay teams (200 free relay, 200- and 400-medley relay)...Was seven one-hundredths of a second from breaking Dara Torres record of 52.95 in the 100-yard butterfly as she finished seventh at the NCAA Championships with a time of 53.02...She also finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.87...Swam a season best time of 1:59.71 in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 26th place at the NCAAs...Finished in third place in the 100-yard butterfly with a season best time of 53.22 at the SEC Championships...Also finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke and ninth in the 200-yard butterfly with times of 54.38 and 1:59.79, respectively at the SECs...Member of the 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams that broke school records at the SEC meet...Recorded nine top-three dual meet finishes...Against Texas, recorded two runner-up finishes with provisional times in the 100-yard backstroke (55.62) and 100-yard butterfly (55.21)...Swam a season-best time of 2:01.84 in the 200-yard butterfly as an exhibition swimmer versus Texas...Won the 100-yard backstroke versus Indian River Community College in 57.76...

2001-02: Fought off a knee injury to become one of the Gators' top fliers...Earned All-America honors in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay...At the 2002 NCAA Championships, was a member of the 200 and 400-yard medley relay teams that had season best times of 1:40.24 and 3:40.34, respectively...Scored a third-place finish at the 2002 SEC Championships with her collegiate best time of 53.88 in the 100-yard butterfly and repeated the time again at the NCAA Championships...Claimed three top-three finishes with four championships scoring places...Recorded a second place finish against Florida Atlantic in the 100-yard backstroke (57.57).

At Hawaii: Named to the 2001 All-WAC team for the 100-yard butterfly and as a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hawaii, setting pool records in both events...Swam in the 2000 and 2001 NCAA meets as the only Wahine to qualify in 2001 where she placed 15th (54.66).

Personal: Born Renate Magdeleen duPlessis, in Capetown, South Africa...Daughter of Andre and Jeanette duPlessis...Has one younger sister, Ciska who is attending the University of Stellenbesch and one younger brother, Marnitz...Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes...Majoring in Exercise Physiology, and aspires to become a massage therapist.
