1999-2000: Competed in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle and relay teams at NCAAs...earned three All-America honorable mention accolades as a member of the relay teams...was a member of the 13th-place 400-meter freestyle relay team and the 16th-place 200-meter freestyle and medley relay teams...placed in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle at SECs...tied a personal-best with a split time of 23.07 in the 50y free...finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle at the conference meet with a time of 23.14 (23.10 in the prelims)...had a personal-best in the 100-yard free with a time of 49.88 in the SEC prelims and placed sixth in the 100y in the finals...was on the third place 200- and 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relay teams at SECs...also a member of the fourth-place 400-yard medley relay team...holds the team's top times in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle...was ranked 20th in the nation in the 100y free (49.88) and her time in the 50y free (23.07) was tied for 23rd in the NCAA...swam the freestyle leg on the medley relay teams...won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle in three meets (Miami, South Carolina and Illinois)...a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that was ranked 10th, the 400-yard freestyle team that was 11th and the 200-yard medley relay team that had the 15th-best time in the NCAA...

1998-99: Was one of Florida's strongest freestyle swimmers...finished the season with the top team time in the 50- (23.07) and 100-yard (50.66) freestyle events, both of which were wins versus Tennessee...finished fifth in the 50 free at the SEC Championships...was the lead off in the 200-yard freestyle relay that finished fourth (1:33.06) at SECs...

High School: A 1994 graduate of St. Michael School...holds the National record in Barbados for the 50 free, 100 free, 100-meter butterfly and the 200 fly...was named the National Athlete of the Year in Barbados from 1995-97...received the Minister's Award in 1996 and 1997...received the Barbados Service Award...

Club: Member of the Pirates Club team and coached by Marlyn Ouimet...

Personal: Born Leah Simone Martindale on June 6, 1978 in St. James, Barbados...daughter of Alfred and Claire Martindale...enjoys watching movies and reading...major is psychology.
