Florida’s premiere distance swimmer heading into his junior season … Shattered Florida’s longest standing school record in the mile, Matt Celinksi’s school record of 14:47.26 from 1986, with a first place performance at the SEC Championships … Won his first conference crown in a new UF best time of 14:38.06 … Scooped up the bronze medal in the mile at the NCAA Championships in a time of 14:43.08, giving him the two fastest times ever recorded by a Gator in the event … Took seventh overall in the 500 free (4:18.17) at SECs … Placed 26th overall in the 500 (4:18.74) at NCAAs … Collected six individual wins in dual meet and invitational competition.
2012-13: Traveled to the 2013 NCAA Championships as a freshman, finishing 21st in the 1,650 free with a time of 14:57.95 and was 32nd in the 500 free in a time of 4:20.64…Earned All-SEC Freshman honors after finishing third in the 1,650 free clocking in with a career-best time of 14:49.88 and was 14th in the 500 free in a time of 4:21.08 at the 2013 SEC Championships…Won the 1,000 free touching the wall in a persona-best time of 9:02.88 in the win over Tennessee…Claimed first place in the 1,000 free (9:02.95) and took second in the 500 free (4:26.07) to help the Gators defeat Auburn…Grabbed the win in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:04.66 and was third in the 500 free in 4:30.57 against Florida Atlantic…Swam to victory in the 1,650 free setting a meet record time of 14:54.65 at the 2012 Ohio State Invitational, added a 12th place finish in the 500 free (4:24.94)…Scored points for the Gators after finishing first in the 1,000 free (9:08.36) and second in the 500 free (4:28.88) at in-state rival Florida State…Took second in the 1,000 free (9:11.08) and seventh in the 200 free (1:42.72), also posted a personal-best time of 4:04.32 in exhibition in the 400 IM against Texas A&M...Gathered his first win as a Gator in the 1,000 free (9:11.96), second in the 500 free (4:33.81) and fifth in the 200 free (1:41.85) at South Carolina…Finished third in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:07.15 and fourth in the 500 free in 4:29.80 at Georgia…In first meet as a Gator, finished second in the 1,650 free clocking in at 15:36.01 at the All-Florida Invitational.
