National/International Competition: Trained with the Real Canoe National Club in Madrid, Spain… Set the Spanish record in the 200 IM (1:59.39) at Spanish Nationals in 2013 … Broke his own 200 IM record at the 2014 Spanish Nationals in a time of 1:58.99 … Claimed the Spanish National Championship in the 100 breaststroke in a UF long course record time of 1:01.56 … Won a gold medal in the 400 IM at the European Comment Cup, while coming in third in the 200 IM… Captured a gold medal in the 400 IM at the 2010 European Youth Olympic Festival… Won the men’s 200 IM at the 2011 Spanish Long Course Championships…Owns 35 gold medals in several different age groups in Spain...Chose Florida because of the academics and the swimming program.

2013-14:

Became Florida’s top breaststroker and will look to build on an already impressive long course-meter season … Broke his own 200 individual record at the 2014 Spanish Nationals in a time of 1:58.99 … Claimed the Spanish National Championship in the 100 breaststroke in a UF long course record time of 1:01.56 … Won an SEC title as part of UF’s school record breaking 200 medley relay squad (1:24.53) … Awarded the bronze medal in both the 100 breast (52.43) and 200 breast (1:52.77) at SECs … 200 breast swim from SECs was a new UF record … One of three Gators to finish in the top five in the 200 IM (5th-1:43.24) at SECs … Registered five All-American honors at NCAAs, with three top-16 individual performances … Earned the silver medal as part of UF’s 400 medley relay school record breaking team at NCAAs (3:04.77) … Touched first in the consolation final of the 200 IM (1:42.67) at NCAAs … Also swam on UF’s fifth place 200 medley relay team (1:24.82) … Finished 10th overall in the 100 breast in a UF record time of 52.35 … Also took 10th in the 200 breast (1:53.55), one place behind teammate Matt Elliott … Scored 10 individual wins and seven relay wins during the regular and invitational season …

 

2012-13: Added two more All-America honors to his resume with top-16 individual finishes after taking 14th in the 200 IM (1:44.06) and was 15th in the 200 breast (1:55.13)…Swam as a member of the first place 800 free relay group that combined for the second-best time in school history with a 6:14.76, also finished third in the 200 breast with a new career-best time of 1:54.74, was fifth in the 200 IM (1:44.04, personal-best) and ninth in the 400 IM at the SEC Championships...Took fifth in the 100 free against Tennessee (45.65)...Recorded second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 and 200 breast in the win over Auburn...Tallied a third place finish in the 200 IM, seventh in the 200 breast, eighth in the 200 free and ninth in the 100 breast at the SMU Classic...Won the 200 breast in a meet record time (1:55.10), finished second in the 100 breast with a personal-best (54.16) and fourth in the 400 IM at the Ohio State Invitational...Claimed a win in the 200 IM, second in the 200 breast and third in the 100 breast at Florida State...Recorded a second place finish in the 200 free against Texas A&M...Took second in the 100 free and third in the 200 fly at South Carolina...Came in second in the 200 IM, third in the 200 breast and fourth in the 100 breast at Georgia...Won the 200 IM, finished second in the 400 IM and 200 breast and third in the 100 breast and 1,650 free at the All-Florida Invitational.

 

2011-12: 2012 400 IM SEC Champion, and UF’s lone freshman to claim a conference crown after he touched in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:43.57 to earn All-SEC First Team honors…Picked up two All-America honors with a seventh-place effort in the 400 IM (3:45.21) and as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team. Added a 23rd-place swim in the 200 breast (1:57.40) and 24th-place effort in the 200 IM (1:45.71) at NCAAs…Also was a part of UF’s silver-medal winning 800 freestyle relay team, picked up another silver medal after he touched in 3:47.99 for second in the 200 breast and finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:45.10, personal best) in his first appearance at the conference championships…Recorded a personal-best time in the 200 fly (1:50.84) in the final meet of the season against Tennessee…Had three top-five finishes in the win over Auburn with a second-place swim in the 200m IM (2:07.72), third-place swim in the 100m breast (1:06.34) and fourth-place swim in the 200m breast (2:24.78)…Swam into the runner-up spot in the 200 IM at the Classic @ SMU after touching in 1:47.81and recorded a career-low swim in the 100 breast after stopping the clock at 56.45…Had three top-five finishes at the Georgia Tech Invitational after finishing the 400 IM third (3:52.06), the 200 IM fourth (1:49.30) and the 1,650 free fifth (15:38.34)…Won the 200 breast in 2:03.04 against FSU…Took home a trio of third-place finishes against Georgia in the 100m breast (1:06.34), 200m breast (2:23.07) and 400m IM (4:31.88)…Won his first collegiate individual victory against LSU in the 200 free after the clock was stopped at 1:40.14…Made his Gator debut at the All-Florida Invitational finishing second in four different events: 1,650 free (15:35.28, personal best), 100 breast (56.77), 200 breast (2:03.86) and 400 IM (4:05.63)
