National/International Competition:

Placed fifth and set a career-best time in the 200-meter individual medley at the 2014 European Championships… Recorded a personal-best in the 200-meter IM at the 2013 Spanish Nationals… Recorded the Spanish record in the 200 IM at the 2013 Spanish Nationals with a time of 1:59.39… Claimed the Spanish National Championship in the 100 breaststroke in a UF long course record time of 1:01.56… Won a gold medal in the 400 IM at the European Comment Cup… Won the men’s 200 IM at the 2011 Spanish Long Course Championships… Captured a gold medal in the 400 IM at the 2010 European Youth Olympic Festival… Owns 35 gold medals in several different age groups in Spain.

 

At Florida

2014-15:

NCAA Championships: Earned an All-American honor in the 200-yard individual medley (7th, 1:42.96) and an Honorable Mention All-American accolade in the 200-yard breaststroke (10th, 1:53.19)… Was a member of the UF’s seventh-place 400-yard medley relay squad that clocked a time of 3:05.71… SEC Championships: Placed second in the 200-yard IM (1:43.15), fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:54.31) and seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (52.78)… Was also a member the Gators runner-up 400-yard medley relay team that clocked a time of 3:05.09… Finished with eight individual wins and was part of three first-place relay teams during the dual meets and invitational competition… Honors: Three-time All-American… Second Team All-SEC… 2015 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

 

2013-14:

NCAA Championships: Recorded five All-American honors that included three individual accolades and he was a member of two top-8 finishing relay teams… Was a member of the second-place 400-yard medley relay team (3:04.77) and the fifth-place 200-yard medley relay team (1:24.82)… Individually, Solaeche-Gomez placed ninth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:42.67), 10th in both the 100-yard breaststroke (52.35 - UF record) and the 200-yard breaststroke (1:53.55)… SEC Championships: Was a member of the SEC Championship 200-yard medley relay team as that group set a UF school record with a time of 1:24.53… Individually, placed third in both the 100-yard breaststroke (52.43) and the 200-yard breaststroke (1:52.77 – UF record) and he finished fifth in the 200-yard individually medley (1:43.24)… Scored 10 individual wins and seven relay wins during dual meets and invitational competition throughout the regular season… Honors: Five-time All-American… SEC Champion…  First Team All-SEC.

 

2012-13:

NCAA Championships: Recorded a pair of All-America honors, as he placed 14th in the 200-yard individual medley (1:44.06) and 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:55.13)… SEC Championships: Was a member of the first-place 800-yard freestyle relay team that clocked the second-best time in school history with a time of 6:14.76… Individually, Solaeche-Gomez placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:54.74), fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:44.04) and ninth in the 400-yard individual medley... Recorded multiple top-5 finishes throughout dual meets during the regular season… Honors: Two-time All-American… SEC Champion…  First-Team All-SEC.

 

2011-12:

NCAA Championships: Earned a pair of All-America accolades, as he placed seventh in the 400-yard individual medley (3:45.21) and he was a member of the Gators’ All-American 800-yard freestyle relay team… In addition, he finished 23rd in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:57.40) and 24th in the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.71)… SEC Championships: Earned All-SEC honors, as he was UF’s lone freshman to win a conference title, as he placed first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:43.57… In addition, he placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:47.99), fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.10) and Solaeche-Gomez was a member of UF’s second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team… Won his first collegiate race in a dual meet against LSU, as he placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.14… Made his Gator debut at the All-Florida Invitational, where he finished runner-up in four events… Honors: Two-time All-American… SEC Champion…  First-Team All-SEC.

 

Prior to Florida:

Trained with the Real Canoe National Club in Madrid, Spain… Chose Florida because of the academics and the swimming program.
