Currently a member of the World Class Development London, Rio and Beyond program that was designed for British swimmers who could possibly qualify for the 2012 London Olympics or the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics as he hopes to become the second Olympic swimmer to come out of hometown of Duns, Scotland… Was a member of the 2014 Scottish National Team after qualifying for the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won the 400 IM at the in a personal-best time of 4:11.20 in Glasgow, Scotland… Recorded his highest career international finish with a lifetime best 400 IM mark of 4:13.72 in a seventh place swim at the 2013 FINA World Championships… Posted career-bests in the 200 IM and 200 fly at the 2013 British Gas Swimming Championships… In addition, Wallace qualified for the World Championships in the 400 IM at the 2013 British Championships… Competed at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Serbia in 2012 as he qualified for the team at the British Gas Swimming Championships in 2011… 2011 Scottish Schools Champion in the 200 and 400 IM… Won two silver medals at the 2010 British Gas Championships, while also winning two silver medals as part of a freestyle relay team and a medley relay team… 2011 Scottish National Age Group Champion with gold medals in the 200 and 400 IM, 200 and 400 free and the 200 fly… In addition, Wallace won silver medals in the 100 fly and 1,500 free, while earning three gold medals on relay teams… 2010 finalist in the 200 and 400 IM at the 2010 European Junior Championships.
NCAA Championships: Finished runner-up in both the 500-yard freestyle (4:11.62) and the 400-yard individual medley (3:38.17)… His 400-yard IM time was the seventh fastest ever recorded; Wallace ranks behind only U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists Conor Dwyer and Ryan Lochte in the UF record books in that event… In addition, Wallace earned a second NCAA silver medal as he was a member of the UF 800-yard freestyle relay team that clocked a time of 6:14.74… SEC Championships: Claimed his first individual SEC title as he placed first in the 500-yard freestyle and set an SEC and a UF record time of 4:10.73… In addition, placed second in the 400-yard individual medley, seventh in the 200-yard butterfly and was a member of the Gators SEC Champion 800-yard freestyle relay team (6:13.03 – UF record)… Finished with seven individual wins and was part of two first-place relay teams during the dual meets and invitational competition… Earned SEC Male Swimmer of the Week honors for his performance at the Classic at SMU where he registered three individual wins… Honors: Three-time All-American… SEC Champion… First Team All-SEC… SEC Swimmer of the Week.
NCAA Championships: Won his first NCAA title as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that clocked a school record time of 6:13.27… In addition, Wallace earned two other All-American honors as he finished third in the 400-yard individual medley and 11th in the 200-yard individual medley with personal-best times of 3:39.87 and 1:43.31, respectively… SEC Championships: Finished second in the 400-yard individual medley (3:41.95), fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (1:44.18) and sixth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:44.16)… Finished with four individual wins and 13 individual top-5 finishes in dual meets competition throughout the regular season… Honors: NCAA Champion… Three-time All-American… Second Team All-SEC.
NCAA Championships: Earned his first All-America honor of his career with a ninth place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a personal-best time of 3:44.36... Wallace also competed in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley at the NCAA Championships where he recorded times of 1:46.28 and 1:46.02, respectively… SEC Championships: Finished runner-up in both the 200-yard butterfly (1:44.81) and the 400-yard individual medley (3:45.02) and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.33)… For his efforts, Wallace earned to the two All-SEC second team honors and a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team… Won his first individual event in a dual meet against LSU when he placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:50.32… Made his UF debut at the All-Florida Invitational where he placed third in the 400-yard individual medley (3:56.70) and fourth in the 200-yard butterfly… Honors: All-American… Second Team All-SEC… All-SEC Freshman Team.
Prior to Florida:
Trained at Edinburgh’s Warrender Baths Club under head coach Laurel Bailey… Chose Florida because of the coaching staff, facilities and he thought UF would give him the best chance to reach his full potential.
