National/International Competition: Competed at the 2012 USA Olympic Team Trials in the 200 breast and 400 IM…set a personal best in the 200 breast…Ended his 200 breast run in eighth (2:16.96) at the 2013 US National Championships … Took 10th in the 100 breast (1:02.31) at the 2013 US National Championships …A four-time senior junior national champion…Holds the national age-group record from 13-16 in the 200 breast…Captured one gold medal and two silver medals at the 2010 Junior Pan-Pacific Championships…Placed 14th in the finals of the 200 breast at 2009 U.S. Nationals, the second-fastest time in American history by anyone under age 17…Competed at FINA-Arena World Cup meets in Berlin and Stockholm in 2009…Participated in the 2012 Olympic Trials…recorded personal bests in the 100 and 200 breast events in Omaha, Neb…Qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials entering his sophomore year.

2012-13: Capped off a solid sophomore season with another school record and three All-America honors at the 2013 NCAA Championships…His time of 1:53.79 in the 200 breast earned him a sixth place finish and his second school record of the season…Also made the finals of the 100 breast, finishing 14th (53.20) and joined the 400 medley relay for a seventh place finish (3:08.16)…Earned his first SEC title with a win in the 200 breast, swimming a personal-best (1:54.13)…He added a sixth place finish in the 100 breast while setting the new school record of 53.19 in the prelims and finished sixth in the 400 IM with another personal-best (3:44.33)...Swept the breaststroke events as he finished first in the 100 (54.97) and 200 breast (1:59.09) against Tennessee...Won the 200 breast (1:58.39), finished second in the 100 breast (55.69) and was sixth in the 200 IM (1:52.30) in the win at Auburn...Claimed first in the 200 breast (1:55.97) and finished third in the 100 breast (54.37) at the SMU Classic...Finished second in the 200 breast (1:57.72), third in the 100 breast (54.60), 11th in the 400 IM (3:50.22) and was 21st in the 200 IM (1:47.93) at the Ohio State Invitational...Won the 100 (55.95) and 200 breast (2:01.91) to sweep the breaststroke events against in-state rival Florida State...Took first in the 200 breast (2:00.52) and was third in the 200 fly (1:50.21) against Texas A&M...Grabbed a win in the 100 breast (56.02) and was part of the first place 400 medley relay against South Carolina...Won the 200 breast (1:59.44), finished second in the 100 breast (55.06) and sixth in the 200 IM (1:51.66) at Georgia...Won the 100 breast (55.33) and 200 breast (2:01.15) and finished fourth in the 400 IM (3:54.73) at the All-Florida Invitational.

 

2011-12: Earned the first two All-American honors of his career as a member of the 200 and 400 Medley Relay, swimming the breaststroke on both relays…The Gators highest finisher in both the 100 and 200 breast touching in a personal-best 53.76, and second-fastest time in UF history in the 100, and 1:56.65 in the 200…Made two championship final appearances at the 2012 SEC Championships with a bronze-medal winning swim in the 200 breast (1:55.75) and sixth place finish in the 100 breast (54.12) to earn SEC All-Freshman Team honors, and added a 1:46.96 swim in the 200 IM to advance to the final session in each of his events at the conference championships…Swam the fastest 200 breast of his career at the 2012 Bulldog Invitational when he touched the wall in 1:54.63, the sixth fastest time in the country to date, and fastest in the SEC on the year – the time is also the second-fastest 200y breast swam in UF history…Five-time SEC Male Freshman of the Week following his efforts at the All-Florida Invitational, against Georgia, at the Georgia Tech Invitational, Classic @ SMU and against Tennessee…Against the Vols, was one of two freshmen at the meet to capture an event victory when he won the 200 breast (1:57.79) and second in the 100 breast (55.15 – just one-hundredth of a second behind the first-place finisher…Against Auburn, swept the top-spot in the 100m and 200m breast, touching in 1:04.23 and 2:20.98, respectively…At the Classic @ SMU, was the only freshmen present to win an individual victory when he claimed the 200 breast in 1:57.79…At the Georgia Tech Invitational swept the top-spot in both the 100 and 200 breast, touching in 55.66 and 1:59.85, respectively – was one of only five male swimmers to win two or more events, and the only freshman to accomplish the feat…Won the 100 breast (55.53) and added a personal-best in the 100 fly (51.47)…Touched first in both the 100m and 200m breast in the tie against Georgia, clocking in at 1:04.59 and 2:18.01, respectively…Claimed the 100 breast against LSU, with a 54.69 mark…Debuted at the All-Florida Invitational, winning three individual events – the 100 breast (55.64), 200 breast (1:59.06) and 400 IM (3:50.96) Helped lead head coach Gregg Troy to his 12th consecutive top-10 finish at NCAA’s.

Attended Richwoods High School…Trained with the Peoria Area Water Wizards under head coach Ivan Kirov…A five-star recruit by Swimming World Magazine…Rated the No. 14 men’s swimming recruit in the country by CollegeSwimming.com…The first-ever three-time Illinois Swimming Male Swimmer of the Year Owns five individual state championships and 15 state records…Won a gold medal in the 200 IM and a silver in the 100 breast his sophomore year…The first freshman in Illinois state swimming history to take home gold medals in two events (100 breast and 200 IM) at the state swimming meet…Chose Florida over North Carolina, Indiana and Texas.
