National/International Competition: Notched his highest career international finish with a lifetime best 400 IM mark of 4:13.72 in a seventh place swim at the 2013 FINA World Championships … Posted career lows in the 200 IM and 200 fly as well as qualifying in the 400 IM for Worlds at the 2013 British Gas Swimming Championships … Trained at Edinburgh’s Warrender Baths Club under head coach Laurel Bailey… Member of the World Class Development London, Rio and Beyond program, designed for British swimmers who could possibly qualify for the 2012 London Olympics or 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics… Hoping to become the second Olympic swimmer to come out of hometown of Duns, Scotland… Competed at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Serbia this July… Qualified for the team at the British Gas Swimming Championships in April 2011… Spent 10 days training in Dubai with the British Development team this past January… The 2011 Scottish Schools Champion in the 200 and 400 IM… Won two silver medals at the 2010 British Gas Championships, while also winning two silver medals as part of freestyle/medley relay teams… The Scottish National Age Group Champion in 2011 with gold medals in the 200 and 400 IM, 200 and 400 free and 200 fly… Also won silver medals in the 100 fly and 1,500 free, while earning three gold medals on relay teams…Finalist in the 200 and 400 IM at the 2010 European Junior Championships… Member of the Scottish Senior Gold Squad…Chose Florida because of the coaching staff, facilities and both the ability, and chance to fully reach his potential.

2012-13: Won first NCAA title as part of the 800 free relay at the 2013 NCAA Championships, setting a school record with a time of 6:13.27…Earned three All-American honors after finishing third in the 400 IM with a personal-best 3:39.87 and took 11th in the 200 IM with another personal-best time (1:43.31)…Claimed a second place finish in the 400 IM touching the wall in 3:41.95, was fifth in the 200 fly (1:44.18) and sixth in the 200 IM (1:44.16) at the SEC Championships...Finished second in the 200 free (1:38.40) and 200 IM (1:49.09) against Tennessee...Tied for third in the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.88 and finished fifth in the 200 breast clocking in at 2:03.94 in the win at Auburn...Won the 100 breast (47.70) and finished second in the 100 free (46.00) against Florida Atlantic...Tallied a second place finish in the 400 IM (3:44.23) and 200 IM (1:44.94), swam a personal-best to take fifth place in the 200 breast (1:59.28) and was 11th in the 200 free (1:37.21) at the Ohio State Invitational...Finished third in the 200 breast (2:04.69) and 200 IM (1:50.11) at Florida State...Won the 200 fly stopping the clock at 1:49.47 and took second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:05.15 against Texas A&M...Had two victories against South Carolina, as he took first in the 500 free with a 4:25.81 and 200 fly in 1:47.75...Finished third in the 200 free (1:38.17) at Georgia.

 

 

2011-12: Earned the first All-America nod of his career with a ninth-place, and personal-best effort in the 400 IM (3:44.36). Added swims in the 200 fly (1:46.28) and 200 IM (1:46.02) in his NCAA Championship debut…Took home silver in both the 200 fly (1:44.81), 400 IM (3:45.02) and fifth in the 200 IM (1:45.33) to have a earn two All-SEC Second Team honors and a spot on the All-SEC Freshman team en route to a career performance at the 2012 SEC Championships, swimming personal-best times in each event…Recorded a personal-best swim in the 200 breast, clocking in at 2:04.05, against Tennessee…Finished one-two-three against Auburn to help Florida win the meet taking first in the 200m free (1:53.56), second in the 200m fly (2:05.92) and third in the 200m breast (2:24.73)…Won the 400 IM (3:54.73) against FAU…Collected two top-10 finishes at the Georgia Tech Invitational, touching in 1:51.05 for seventh in the 200 IM and 3:57.87 for 10th in the 400 IM…Finished two-three against Florida State, taking second in the 200 free (1:39.77) and third in the 200 breast (2:05.28)…Against Georgia, touched in 4:32.66 in the 400m IM for fourth and 2:10.07 for fifth in the 200m fly…Won his first individual, collegiate title against LSU when the clock stopped at 1:50.32 in the 200 fly…Made his debut at the All-Florida Invitational with a third-place swim in the 400 IM (3:56.70) and fourth-place swim in the 200 fly.
