At Florida
2011-12: Collected two top-20 finishes at the Georgia Tech Invitational with an 18th-place effort in the 100 back (52.19) and 17th-place swim in the 200 back (1:51.90)…Finished fifth and sixth in the 100 (52.84) and 200 back (1:54.28), respectively, against rival FSU…Swam as a member of the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays that finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the first long course meet of the year against Georgia…Made his SEC debut against LSU, touching fourth in the 200 back (1:53.57) and seventh in the 100 back (53.00)…Dove into the water for his first collegiate meet at the All-Florida Invitational, swimming the backstroke on the 200 and 400 medley relay teams that each finished third.
Prior to Florida: Graduated from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Fla.…Won gold in the state meet as a Junior in the 100 Back and the 200 Medley Relay, and also won silver in the 100 Back his senior year…Named to the Orange County swim team for his last three years of high school and was the Orlando Sentinel swimmer of the year in the 2009 season, and also Varsity Athlete of the Week in the Sentinel in the same season…Selected as captain for Winter Park his senior year and qualified for the state meet in eighth grade and all throughout high school…Swam club for Highlander Aquatics under his father, Michael Curley…NCSA Junior National Champion in the 50 Back in Spring 2011, turning in a 22.7…Named a National AP Scholar his senior year.
