National/International Competition: Finished 39th
in the 50-meter freestyle (23.46) and 54th in the 100-meter
freestyle (51.62) at the 2010 Long Course U.S. Nationals in Irvine, California…Competed
at the 2009 U.S. Nationals/World Trials in Indianapolis, Ind.,…Finished 38th
in the 200 fly (2:08.01) and 58th in the 200 IM (2:11.97)…Was
invited to the National Select camp…A senior national qualifier…holds best
times of 1:39 in the 200-yard free and 2:08 in the 200-meter IM.
At Florida
2011:-12: Swam the fifth fastest
50 free, and lowest-mark of his career when he kick-started the 200 free relay
team with a 19.67 split at the SEC Championships…Picked up two All-American
honors at the 2012 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as a member of the
200 medley and 400 free relay…Individually, finished 33rd in the 100
free (43.80) at the NCAA meet…Collected All-SEC honors as part of the 400
freestyle team that finished second in 2:53.69 at the conference championships
and added a fifth-place finish in the 50 free (19.74), 1:37.48 swim for 12th in
the 200 free and 13th-place effort in the 100 free (43.98)…Finished four-five
in the 100 (45.37) and 50 free (20.52), respectively, against Tennessee…In the
win over Auburn added points for Florida with a fifth-place swim in the 50m
free (24.14) and sixth-place swim in the 100m free (53.24)…Against FAU, claimed
the 100 free title in 45.78 and finished second in the 200 free
(1:40.98)….Helped Florida topple rival FSU with a fifth-place effort in the 100
free (46.04) and sixth-place swim in the 50 free (21.32)…Took third in the 50m
free against Georgia, touching in 24.20…In the SEC opener against LSU, clocked
in at 46.51 for third…Instrumental part of the UF relay squads.
2010-11: Appeared in one meet for the Gators
before suffering an injury…Captured two second-place finishes at the
All-Florida Invitational in the 100 and 200 free, touching in 45.81 and
1:51.50, respectively. Also finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:53.57) and fifth
in the 50 free (21.38)…Was a member of four separate victorious relay teams
(200 FR, 400 FR, 800 FR and 200 MR) at the All-Florida Invitational, and was
also a contributing factor in the second place 400 medley relay team.
2009-10: Earned his first All-America honor as a
member of Florida’s 200-yard freestyle relay at the 2010 NCAA
Championships...Also swam career bests in the 50 free (19.95) and 100 free
(43.51) at the NCAA Championships…Placed 11th in the 200 free, 12th in the 100
free and 17th in the 50 free at the 2010 SEC Championships…Part of the
second-place 400 free relay squad against Auburn…Won the 50 free in the win
over FAU, while joining teammates to finish second in the 200 medley
relay…Captured the 100 free against Indian River State College and finished
third in the 50 free…Part of the second-place 200 free relay, third-place 400
and 800 free relay team and eighth-place 200 medley relay squad at the Georgia
Invitational, while finishing fifth in the 50 and 100 free.
2008-09: Named to the 2009 SEC Academic Honor
Roll…Was also a CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American…Swam in 12 meets
for the Gators his sophomore season, including the 2008 Princeton Big Al
Invitational and the 2009 Florida Swimming Senior Championships…Swam five
career-best marks during the 2008-09 campaign, including four in Orlando at the
FSSC…Improved his 50 free (20.18), 100 free (44.32), 100 fly (49.87) and 200 IM
(1:48.68) marks in Orlando…In addition to his dual meet success, represented
the Gators at the 2008 Princeton Invite, where he finished second in the 100
free (44.62) and 200 free (1:37.56), fourth in the 200 IM (1:49.33) and fifth
in the 200 fly (1:48.39)…Swam a career-best mark in the 200 free in the dual
meet win over Tennessee (1:36.81), where he placed third…His mark in the 200
free was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
2007-08: Touched sixth in the consolation final
of the 200 IM (1:49.17) at the SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa … Placed second
in the consolation final of the 200 free (1:37.31) and 10th in the
200 fly (1:46.67) at the SEC meet…Touched second in the 100 free (46.13) in the
win over FAU…Placed fifth in the 200 fly (1:51.65) for his best finish at Tennessee…Placed
fifth in the 200 fly (2:06.14) and sixth in the 100 fly (57.80) versus
Auburn…Finished fourth in the 200 fly (1:52.44) against LSU and fifth in the
fly against Purdue and IRCC…Touched fourth in the 200 free (1:42.48) for his
best individual finish in the win over Purdue…Placed sixth in the 200-meter IM
(2:10.94) at the Alabama Invitational…Touched first in the C-final of the 200
IM (1:54.73) for a 17th place overall finish for his best finish at
the Boilermaker Invitational…Earned a fifth place finish in his first race as a
Gator, the 50 free (21.90), at Virginia.
Prior to Florida: A two-time state
champion in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51 and 500 free with a time of
4:31…Attended the same high school as former Gator Rex Tullius
and trained under former Gator Ryan Lochte’s father
