National/International Competition

Swam for the Cayman Islands at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India, finishing fifth in the semifinals of the men’s 50 free, seventh in the semifinals of the 100 free and sixth in Heat 5 of the 200 free prelims…Captured silver medals in the 200 back and 200 free at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games… At the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships in Irvine, Calif., placed 18th in the 200 free, 16th in the 100 free, 18th in the 100 fly and 28th in the 50 free (school-record 22.20)…Swam for the Cayman Islands at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy finishing 19th in the 100 free (48.56), 24th in the 200 free (1:48.18) and 45th in the 50 free (22.80)… Represented the Cayman Islands in his first Olympic Games … Made the Summer Games in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke events … Swam a 2:07 in the 200 back at the CARIFTA 2007 and also earned two gold’s, one silver and one bronze at the meet … Holds the CARIFTA 200 back record for the men’s 15-17 age group … Was a qualifier in three events at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.


At Florida

2010-11: The 47th UF student-athlete in history (ninth men’s swimmer) to be awarded a NCAA postgraduate scholarship… Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third-consecutive season… Selected to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District III At-Large squad… Finished his career at UF with five school records and 19 All-American honors, the ninth-most in school history… Captured his first two national titles of his career and earned a team-high six All-America honors at the NCAA Championships… Won the NCAA championship in the 200 free (1:32.21) by defeating second-place Dax Hill of Texas, marking the first time in history black swimmers finished one-two in an individual race at a U.S. national championship… Returned later in the evening to lead the Gators to the national title in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:14.88… Finished sixth overall in the 200 medley relay (1:25.69) and fourth in the 400 medley relay (3:06.81), while placing seventh in the B final of the 100 free (43.09) and third in the 400 free relay (2:52.02)… Earned six All-SEC honors at the SEC Championships… Broke the SEC and school record in the 800 free relay at the SEC Championships with a first-place time of 6:13.74… Won two additional SEC titles as a member of UF’s 200 (1:24.94) and 400 (3:04.99) medley relay teams… Finished second in the 100 free (42.45), 200 free (1:32.60) and earned another silver medal in the 400 free relay… Won the 100 back (48.78) and 200 free relay (1:20.26) in the win vs. Indian River State College…Took first in the 100 free (44.38), 200 medley relay (1:28.84) and 400 free relay (2:58.50) and fourth in the 50 free (20.49) in the Senior Day victory over Tennessee… Won the 200 free (1:36.85), took second in the 100 free (44.31) and the 400 free relay (2:58.01) and fourth in the 50 free (20.29) at Auburn… Took fourth in the 100 fly (49.17) and 200 medley relay (1:30.21), fifth in the 50 (20.71) and 100 free (45.04) and sixth in the 200 free relay (1:23.91) and 400 medley relay races (3:18.93) at the SMU Classic… Finished first in the 200 free (1:37.88), 100 fly (49.93), 200 medley relay (1:29.86) against Georgia Tech… Notched first-place finishes in the 200 back (1:45.82) and 100 fly at Florida State (48.74)… Member of the first-place 400 (2:57.58) and 800 free relays squads (6:31.74) at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational, while also taking second in the 100 back (48.66), third in the 100 fly (48.88) and fourth in the 50 (20.48) and 100 free (44.65)… Won the 400 medley relay and both back events in the triumph at LSU… Took first in the 100 free (45.04), 200 medley relay (1:29.57), 400 free relay (2:59.27) and second in the 50 free (20.53) in win at Georgia.


2009-10: Earned seven All-American honors, bringing his career total to 13… An All-SEC selection that was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll... Part of the SEC championship 800-yard freestyle relay squad… The SEC 800-yard free relay champion… Part of the 200 medley relay team that finished second vs. Auburn, while taking third in the 100 free… Finished second in the 100 free and 200 free relay and third in the 50 free, 400 medley relay and 800 free relay at the SMU Classic… Won the 100 back and placed second in the 100 free vs. LSU… Took second in the 50 free, 200 back and 400 medley relay against Indian River State College… Part of the winning 400 free relay team against Georgia, while finishing second in the 50 free and third in the 200 back… Won the 200 free and 200 medley relay and came in second in the 200 back in the win over Georgia Tech… Won the 50 free in the season opener vs. Virginia, while finishing second in the 100 and 200 back and 400 free relay.


2008-09: A 2009 SEC Academic Honor Roll selection…Named a 2009 CSCAA Scholar All-American for his work in the classroom…Also a member of the UF NCAA team that placed fifth overall at the 2009 Championships…Picked up six All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Championship meet in College Station, Texas…Additionally a second team All-SEC selection as a member of Florida’s 800-yard free relay that finished second at the league meet (6:18.36), where UF took second overall…Competed individually at NCAAs in the 200-yard free (1:33.71), placing 10th overall, and took 13th in the 100 free (43.01)…Was a member of the 400-yard free relay that placed seventh (2:52.00), the eighth place 200-yard free (1:18.05) and 200-yard medley (1:25.45) relays and swam the third leg in the ninth place 800-yard free relay (6:22.03) at NCAAs…Swam a pool record at the 2009 SEC meet in the 200-yard free, finishing in 1:33.62, good for ninth place…His time in the 200 free would have placed first in the championship heat…Took ninth in the 200 back (1:42.64) and 14th in the 100 back (48.09)…Was a member of the 200 (1:18.34) and 400-yard (2:52.12) free relays at SECs that placed fourth…Swam in a total of 12 meets for the Gators his sophomore year.


2007-08: Placed third in the 200 free (1:42.21) in the win over LSU … Touched fifth in the 100-meter free (53.31) at the Alabama Invitational … Recorded a 21st-place finish in the 100 back (53.15) at the Boilermaker Invitational … Finished fifth in the 100 free (46.58) at Kentucky … Took fifth in the 50-meter free (24.89) in the won over Georgia … Won the 200 free in the road victory over Minnesota with an NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 1:38.07.
