National/International Competition: Qualified for the USA Swimming All-America Team in Summer 2001...competed in the U.S. Nationals in Summer 2001...Anchored the 6th place 800-meter relay team ({7:44.72), came in 9th in the 200-meter IM (2:04.69), and placed 5th in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2001 World Championship Trials with a time of 1:59.53...Finished second in 100-meter butterfly finals, touching the wall in 56.22 at the 2000 U.S. Open Finals...placed 35th in 200m fly preliminaries at 1999 U.S. Open with time of 2:07.43...made first senior nationals final at 1999 Spring Nationals in the 100-meter fly and placed eighth (55.73)...advanced to the finals at '99 Spring Nationals by clocking a career-best time of 55.12 in the 100-meter fly preliminaries which qualified him for the 2000 Olympic Trials...1998 Spring Junior National Champion in the 200-yard fly, clocking a personal-best time of 1:49.96...placed fourth at the competition in the 100 fly (49.73)...also had personal-best in 100 free (46.98) at '98 Spring Junior Nationals to place in the top-25...at 1997 Summer Junior Nationals took third in the 100-meter fly (57.03) and fifth in the 200 fly (2:06.64)...improved 100-meter fly time to 56.21 at '98 Senior Summer Nationals.

2000-2001: Came in 1st in the 200-yard butterfly prelims and 2nd overall (1:43.18), part of the 6th place 400-yard free relay (2:54.05) and 800-yard free relay (6:28.28) teams...Was a member of the 400-yard medley relay (3:12.82) and 800-yard free relay (6:28.91) teams coming in third in both events, while individually placing first in the 200-yard IM (1:45.38) and fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (1:45.62)...came in third in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.60) and 200-yard butterfly (1:49.51) in a dual meet with Tennessee...won the 200 butterfly at Miami and the 100 fly at the Florida Atlantic/Indian River tri-meet...finished second in the 200-yard butterfly at SMU with a time of 1:49.68...was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly against Auburn (1:50.32) and in the Auburn/Arizona State tri-meet (1:53.90)..placed second in the 500-yard free at Florida State with a time of 4:41.27...came in third in the 200-yard freestyle versus Michigan with a time of 1:40.53...placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.57) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.86) at the SEC Eastern Division Dual Meet Extravaganza...finished sixth in 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.48 and was on the fourth-place 400-yard medley relay team at the Extravaganza.

1999-2000: At NCAA Championships, took home three All-America honors...individually earned first team honors, placing seventh in the 200m Fly with time of 1:57.24...third leg of 11th place 400m Medley Relay team that touched the wall in 3:36.55...third leg of 12th place 800m Free Relay team that timed 7:17.33...at SEC Championships, took gold medal in 200 fly with time of 1:43.79, setting a new meet record that had previously been held by assistant coach Anthony Nesty...placed fifth in 100 fly with time of 47.89...automatically qualified for NCAAs and set personal bests in both events.

1998-99: Placed eighth at SEC Championships in the 200 fly with a season-best time of 1:47.42...touched 11th at SEC's in the 200 free (1:39.91) and 31st in the 50 free with a season-best 21.05...additionally at conference meet, swam butterfly legs on Gators' fourth-place 200 medley relay (1:28.95) and fourth-place 400 medley relay (3:15.11)...recorded season-best times in three events at the Speedo Cup in Long Beach, Calif.: 100 fly - 48.82; 200 free - 1:37.72 (as leadoff split on 800 free relay); and 100 free - 45.43 (as leadoff split on 400 free relay)...a highlight to his season was his 400 free relay anchor effort in Auburn dual meet on at the O'Connell Center...needing a second-place finish in the relay to earn the team victory, Sherrard came from behind to out-touch Auburn's relay anchor for second, propelling the Gators to the win over the eventual-national championship team.

High School: 1998 graduate of Bartow High School in Lakeland, Fla...runner-up in 100-yard fly at the 1997 Florida High School 4A State Championships...placed fourth at the state meet in the 200 free in a personal-best 1:41.40...two-time team captain for Bartow...Polk County record-holder in the 100 fly...swam for Bartow under Mike Yearwood and City of Lakeland Aquatics under Lee Stauffer...selected most valuable club swimmer in '97.

Personal: Born Duncan McLeod Sherrard on January 13, 1980 in Bartow, Fla...son of Antone and Jeanne Sherrard...was member of student government at Bartow...enjoys reading and has ambitions to own his own business...Majoring in history.
