National/International Competition: Finished 46th in 1,500-meter freestyle event at 1999 U.S. Open with time of 16:38.79...placed seventh in the 200-meter IM at 1998 Phillips 66 competition in a personal-best time of 2:05.10, earning him a spot on the '99 World University Games team...also at Phillips 66 finished 34th in the 400 IM (4:30.90) and 30th in the 200 free (1:53.20)...top-10 finisher in the 200 IM at the '97 US Open (seventh), '98 Spring Senior Nationals (eighth), and '98 Summer Senior Nationals (seventh)...also at Summer Nationals, swam on the sixth-place 400 free relay and 10th-place 800 free relay.

1998-99: At the NCAA Championships, was Honorable Mention All-American as member of Gators' 15th-place 800 free relay...individually at NCAAs, placed 20th in the 200 IM (1:48.56), finished 21st in the 400 IM in a career-best time of 3:51.60 and touched 28th in the 1650 free (15:38.19)...at the SEC Championships, earned eighth-place honor in the 1650...finished eighth in the 400 IM with a collegiate best 3:52.27, ranking eighth best in Florida record book...took 13th in the 200 IM in 1:49.18...additionally at the conference meet, was a member of 800 free relay which touched in third in 6:34.70...at the Speedo Cup in December, recorded career-best times in both the 200 IM (1:48.42) and the 1650 free (15:20.57) on December 3rd and December 5th, respectively.
