Saturday March 13, 2004Florida Completes Day 2 At Zone B Championships
Sophomore Jessica Ranieri (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) led a collection of Florida women’s divers by placing 12th on the three-meter Saturday in the second day of competition at the 2004 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
On the women’s side, Ranieri placed 12th on the three-meter with a career-high score of 465.00. Junior Nicole Bolt (Orlando, Fla.) was just three spots back in 15th with a career-best score of 461.85, while senior Kristen Connor (Gainesville, Fla.) placed 32nd with a score of 241.65.
"On the women’s side, I think this was collectively their best performance of the season," coach Donnie Craine said. "I thought all three dove extremely well, but, unfortunately, it just wasn’t good enough to make it to NCAAs."
Junior Zach Wilcox (Yarrow Point, Wash.) advanced to the finals and posted a score of 602.55 to finish in 11th place on the one-meter. Freshman Justin Schmidt (Falcon, Colo.) competed in the prelims of the event and finished 31st with a score of 235.60.
The Zone B Championships conclude on Sunday with both the men and women’s platform. The men are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the women to follow at 12:30 p.m. Live scoring can be found atwww.georgiadogs.com
