The Florida softball team (19-9, 2-1) lost the final game of its series with Auburn (12-14, 1-2) 3-0 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Ala.
Auburn scored first in the final game of the series. With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Ashley Griffin drove a base hit to the left field wall. Shannon Anderson was hit by a Jenny Gladding pitch and Sara Dean walked to load the bases. Kasey Angulo hit a two-RBI base hit to give Auburn a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the fifth. With Ashley Griffin on second, Sara Dean hit a triple down the right field line to increase Auburn’s lead to 3-0.
Jenny Gladding received the loss for Florida. Janet Spivey earned the win for Auburn.
Florida continues its 14-game road stand this weekend in Lexington, Ky. The Gators will face the Kentucky Wildcats in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
