Saturday January 30, 1999Gators Fall on the Road at Mississippi State

Mississippi State rallied from a 14-point first-half deficit to surprise the 25th-ranked Gators in Starkville and break a two-game losing streak to Florida...MSU junior Todd Myles hit the game-winning three-pointer that closed the scoring with 24 seconds remaining...The tightly-contested second half featured 12 ties or lead changes as UF managed just 21 points in the last 20 minutes, the team's lowest output in a half to date this season...The Gators shot 26 percent (6-of-23) after the intermission, going 1-of-10 from three-point range...Mike Miller led Florida with his second double-double of the year...With three treys, Teddy Dupay became the Gators' freshman record-holder for three-pointers made in a season (44), surpassing Greg Stolt's old record of 41...Dupay extended his consecutive games streak with a trey to three games and 18-of-19 games on the season...The loss was Florida's first this year after leading at the half.
