Irvine, Calif.

Kelsey Stewart and Michelle Moultrie won gold medals with Team USA, while Kathlyn Medina saw action with Mexico.

University of Florida infielder Kelsey Stewart and Gator alumna Michelle Moultrie helped the United States national team to a championship this week at the General Tire World Cup of Softball IX, while infielder Kathlyn Medina earned a sixth-place finish with Mexico.

The Stars and Stripes won the World Cup for the seventh time in the event’s nine-year history. Moultrie captured gold in a World Cup for the third time in her four-year career with Team USA (also: 2011, 2012), and Stewart earned a medal for the second consecutive year after she won silver at last year’s ISF X Junior Women’s World Championship.
