Alexandra Cercone and Kourtney Keegan are two of four Gator women's tennis players named 2014 ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The University of Florida women’s tennis squad was named an All-Academic Team, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its list of 2014 All-Academic Teams Thursday.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA member program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, or CA JUCO eligibility form and have competed in one or more varsity matches must average into the GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2013 and spring 2014).

Additionally, Florida’s Alexandra Cercone, Olivia Janowicz, Kourtney Keegan and Brianna Morgan each earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete status for upholding a personal grade point average of at least 3.50 or above (on a 4.00 scale) as well as earing a varsity letter in their respective sport, having been enrolled at their present institution for at least two semesters.

In 13 years under head coach Roland Thornqvist, this is the ninth Gator squad to earn ITA All-Academic Team honors. Thornqvist has now coached 15 athletes to a total of 30 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
