GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Alumni Association and the University Athletic Association are teaming up to host the first-ever “Rally in the Swamp,” a student pep rally to be held Sunday, August 24 to welcome students back to campus and get them ready for the season opener against Idaho (Saturday, August 30; 7:00 p.m. on ESPNU).
Student gates on the East side will open at 7 p.m. Prior to the event, students can play games to win prizes and the first 3,000 students will receive free Domino’s pizza. Opportunities for campus involvement will also be showcased.
The event begins at 8 p.m. and will feature the Florida cheerleaders and dazzlers, mascots, head coach Will Muschamp and members of the Gator football team. Students will learn some of the great traditions that make Saturdays in the Swamp so special to the Gator Nation.
In addition, the Gator Ticket Office will begin student ticket distribution at the event and 2014 student ticket holders will be able to pick up their 2014 Pepsi Student Section t-shirt.
