Gainesville, Fla.

Hannah Rogers is a candidate for the ESPY Award for Best Female College Athlete.

After leading the University of Florida softball team to its first national championship, senior pitcher Hannah Rogers is a nominee for the 2014 ESPY Award for Best Female College Athlete, ESPN announced on Wednesday (June 25).

Rogers compiled a 30-8 record in her final season in Orange and Blue, marking the third 30-win campaign of her career. The Lake Wales, Fla., native went 7-0 with seven complete games and six shutouts in the NCAA Tournament, and also earned the save in the championship-clinching victory over Alabama on June 3.

A finalist for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, Rogers is the first four-time All-American in Gator Softball history. The right-hander finished her career as the NCAA’s active leader in victories (127), and she is the second UF pitcher ever to eclipse the 100-win mark. Rogers ranks second in Florida annals in wins, saves (14), complete games (108), shutouts (41), strikeouts (833) and appearances (191), while ranking sixth for lowest ERA (1.63).

Fans can visit the ESPYS website to cast their ballots thru July 16, when the annual awards show will be televised live at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
