Senior Flo Diep

On his improvements this season

ďI wasnít playing great in the beginning of the season. Maybe starting at No. 5 was a good thing for me. I gained confidence and I eventually moved up the lineup Ö it was a good thing for me. Now, Iím enjoying the way Iím playing. Iím just enjoying it.

ďI gained confidence and Iím much more aggressive on the court. Instead of being on the defense all the time, Iím focusing on my side, being aggressive, finishing the points at the net and stuff like that. It has made a big difference.Ē

On earning 2014 All-American honors

ďThatís huge. Iíll have my picture on the wall now and it means a lot to me. Iím only the 22nd All-American for Florida, so Iím really, really proud of it. Iím just so proud of that.Ē

Head Coach Bryan Shelton

On his improvement this season

ďHe made a commitment to working with Merk [assistant coach Mark Merklein] and getting in the best condition he could get himself in. He just worked himself into great shape and worked himself into playing good tennis. It sounds simple, but if you do the hard work, youíll eventually start to see the results.

ďHe trusts the work heís put in and he trusts his game.† Seeing him play out there today and being so relaxed in the first set, he played as well as Iíve seen him play all year in a single set. The maturity came through in the third set. He regained his composure and finished the match out. Weíre having blast here watching Flo compete. He just continues to get better.Ē

On playing with more confidence and aggressiveness

ďI think thatís huge. It shows the confidence he has in the work heís put in. Weíve worked so much on the transition area and he needed to gain confidence. He was primarily a baseliner throughout his collegiate career and heís really improved now on the big points Ė heís willing to come forward and make plays at the net and itís paying off.Ē
