Josh Tobias earned a spot on the SEC Baseball Community Service Team.

Florida junior third baseman Josh Tobias was named to the 2014 SEC Baseball Community Service Team announced on Tuesday. The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts. 


Tobias has volunteered with Climb for Cancer, an event in which Gator student-athletes play games and participate with cancer-stricken kids and their siblings in a variety of sports on campus. He volunteers at Littlewood Elementary School Carnival and participated in the Annual Gator Tracks shoe drive. Tobias is a University of Florida Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member and a Florida Letterman Award Committee Member and Presenter. A member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, he is majoring in geological sciences environmental geosciences.


The top-seeded Gators (37-19) will begin the SEC Tournament on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. ET against either eighth-seeded Alabama (34-21) or ninth-seeded Kentucky (33-22).


The game will be carried on CSS, Channels 259 and 1259 HD on the Cox Communications cable system in the Gainesville/Ocala area with Rusty Ensor and Matt Stewart. Jeff Cardozo and Mick Hubert will call the action for the Gator IMG Sports Network, live audio and stats will be available on and fans can also follow updates on @GatorZoneBB, the official Twitter account of the Gator baseball program.
