Head Coach Tim Walton was recognized on Monday by USA Softball.

In his ninth season at the helm of the Gator Softball program, Head Coach Tim Walton has been selected as one of 25 coaches for the 2015-16 USA Softball Women’s National Team Coaching Pool, as announced Monday by the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) and USA Softball.

The ASA and USA Softball will choose head coaches and assistant coaches for the Women’s National Team and Junior Women’s National Team from this list for all 2015 and 2016 competitions. Coaches are chosen for the pool on a two-year cycle.

Coaches selected from this pool will have the opportunity to coach in the 2015 Pan American Games and the XV ISF Women’s World Championships in 2016, as well as a series of exhibitions each year.

The USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team will compete in the XI ISF Junior Women’s World Championships, which runs Aug. 7-17, 2015 in in Oklahoma City, Okla., and in 2016, in addition to a series of exhibition games leading up to the event.

Walton has compiled a 482-113 record in nine seasons with the Gators, part of a 605-177 career mark that spans 12 years. Florida will host its 12th consecutive NCAA Regional this weekend, looking to improve on a 49-31 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament.
