Monday May 5, 2014Second Edition of 'Gator Hotline with Tim Walton' Set for 7 p.m. Monday at Ballyhoo Grill

Gainesville, Fla.

Florida Head Coach Tim Walton will join Adam Schick on air from 7-8 p.m. Monday.

A day after finishing a road sweep of Arkansas to complete the regular season, Gator Softball Head Coach Tim Walton will preview this week’s SEC Tournament and take questions from fans during the second installment of Gator Hotline with Tim Walton. The show runs from 7-8 p.m. ET at Ballyhoo Grill in Gainesville.

Walton will join Adam Schick, Gator soccer, women’s basketball and softball play-by-play commentator and co-host of The Midday Tailgate on ESPN 850 each weekday. Monday night’s program will air on WGGG (1230-AM) in Gainesville and WMOP (900-AM) in Ocala, with an online broadcast available at www.FloridaSportsTalk.fm.

Gator fans will be able to attend the show live at Ballyhoo and ask questions on air. Fans can also call 352-629-6900 to ask questions to Coach Walton during the broadcast.

The Gators are 45-10 (15-9 SEC) on the season, and have secured the No. 4 seed for the conference tournament at Carolina Softball Stadium in Columbia, S.C. Florida will open play Thursday at 4 p.m. ET against fifth-seeded Georgia, with a live telecast on ESPNU. UF owns three SEC Tournament titles (2008, 2009, 2013) in the event’s 17-year history.

Florida is 22-23 (.489) all-time in the SEC Tournament, with six appearances in the championship game.

The Orange and Blue have not faced Georgia this year; UF took three of four meetings from the Bulldogs in 2013, including a 9-5 victory in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament in Lexington, Ky. The Gators lead the all-time series with Georgia, 33-22.

If Florida defeats the Bulldogs on Thursday, the Gators will face the winner of the nightcap between top-seeded Alabama and the team that advances from Wednesday’s first-round matchup between South Carolina and Auburn.

Following the conference tournament, Florida will then look for its 12th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid, having been a top-five national seed for six straight years from 2008-13.
