The Gators had 18 personal and season-best marks at the LSU Invitational Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La. -- A total of 18 personal and season-best marks highlighted competition for the University of Florida track and field squad at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge Saturday. The Gators have just one more regular-season competition May 9 prior to the 2014 SEC Outdoor Championships May 15-18 in Lexington, Ky.

The No. 1 Florida men and No. 2 Gator women were back in action this weekend at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the LSU campus after hosting the 2014 Florida Relays April 3-5 and the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational April 19 in Gainesville. Junior Bridgette Owens had a big PR to take the 110-meter hurdles title (12.88, +0.4), while fellow junior Fawn Miller had a big showing with a PR in the javelin throw to take top honors (55.33m/181-6).

On the men’s side, sophomores Arman Hall and Antwan Wright went two-three in the 200-meter dash with career-best marks of 20.40 (+1.7) and 20.81 (-1.2), respectively, and in the 400m, junior Hugh Graham, Jr. (45.45) and sophomore Najee Glass (45.55) packed a one-two punch, Graham, Jr., with a season-best mark, and Glass with a PR. Junior Stipe Zunic offered up a PR in the shot put for the Florida men with a 19.45m/63-9.75 outing, good for first place.

A trio of women’s distance runners, Cory McGee, Agata Strausa and freshman Becky Greene will wrap up weekend competition for the Orange and Blue Sunday at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, Calif.

LSU INVITATIONAL NOTABLES

·         While the Gators didn’t have the full contingent of Orange and Blue athletes in Baton Rouge, UF still put up a third-place finish (100 points) on the women’s side, while finishing fourth in men’s action (104 points) at the LSU Invite, as Florida competed against some familiar foes from LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Sunshine State opponent Miami at the LSU Invitational, with the top two finishers from each school scoring in each event Saturday

·         Junior Bridgette Owens took the women’s 100-meter hurdles title in 12.88 (+0.4), a new PR and season-best mark. Owens’ time is still third all-time in UF history and moves her to fourth in the country in the event this season, while freshman Skylar Ross-Ransom clocked a new wind-legal PR of 13.62 (+0.4) to take fourth and move on to UF’s all-time top-10 list at a tie for 10th. Brittany Harrell clocked an all-conditions PR of 13.77 (+3.8 wind), while freshman Tyjah Eady’s wind-aided 13.84 (+3.8) was also a season-best mark

Hall moves into a tie for seventh on the all-time top-10 list with his performance, and in the 400m, Hugh Graham, Jr. and Najee Glass went 1-2, Graham, Jr. with a season-best 45.45, while Glass clocked a 45.55 PR in the event
