Jaterra Bonds, Jennifer George, Aneika Henry and DeLisha Milton-Jones are on training camp rosters.

Four former Gator basketball players are vying for permanent roster spots at WNBA training camps this week. WNBA veterans Aneika Henry and DeLisha Milton-Jones are on the training camp rosters for the Atlanta Dream and the New York Liberty, respectively. Jaterra Bonds and Jennifer George are making their WNBA training camp debuts, and the two are both looking to secure spots with the Indiana Fever.

 

Another Florida great, Bridget Pettis, is entering her first year as assistant coach of the Tulsa Shock. She played for eight years and coached for five years at other WNBA teams before being hired by the Shock for the upcoming season. Carol Ross, the winningest head coach in Gator history, enters her third year as head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks.

Aneika Henry

·         Played for the Atlanta Dream for the 2012 and 2013 seasons

·         Two-year WNBA veteran

·         WNBA Stats: 68 Games, 15 Starts, 296 points (4.4 ppg), 177 rebounds (4.0 rpg), 1,046 minutes (15.4 mpg)

 

DeLisha Milton-Jones

·         Participating at the New York Liberty’s training camp

·         Florida letterwinner, 1993-1997

·         Securing a spot on the team would make her the oldest player in the WNBA, at age 39

·         Played for the Los Angeles Sparks from 1999-04 and 2008-12; Washington Mystics 2005-07; San Antonio Stars 2013 (15 games); New York Liberty (11 games) 2013

·         15-year WNBA veteran

·         WNBA Stats: 461 Games, 432 Starts, 5,415 points (11.7 ppg), 2,492 rebounds (5.4 rpg),  893 assists (1.9 apg), 603 steals (1.3 spg), 13,892 minutes (30.1 mpg)

 

Bridget Pettis

·         Entering her first season as assistant coach of the Tulsa Shock

·         Florida letterwinner, 1991-93

·         Los Angeles Sparks assistant coach in 2013

·         2010-11 Director of Basketball Operations for the Phoenix Mercury

·         Phoenix Mercury assistant coach from 2006-09

·         Eight-Year WNBA Veteran

·         Played for the Phoenix Mercury from 1997-2001 and 2004-06; Indiana Fever from 2002-03

 

Carol Ross

·         Entering her third season as head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks

·         2012 WNBA Coach of the Year

·         Assistant coach with the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, 2009-11

·         Florida head coach, 12 years from 1990-2002 (record: 247-121)
