Seniors Stephanie Tofft and Hannah Rogers will play the final regular-season home games of their careers this weekend.



Ranked No. 3 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 5 in the / USA Softball survey, the University of Florida softball team will play its final home series of the regular season this weekend against No. 15/17 Missouri at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. GatorVision will have live video for subscribers on Friday (6 p.m.; all times Eastern) and Saturday (1 p.m.), and will stream the SUN Sports telecast on Sunday (11 a.m.). WGGG (1230-AM) will provide radio coverage, with live stats via Gametracker on the schedule page. 


#VoteHannah: Rogers Chosen as Finalist for 2014 Softball Senior Class Award
Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) is one of 10 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award. Fans can vote at each day through May 12. Fan votes will be combined with ballots from media and coaches to determine the winner. The award will be presented at the Women’s College World Series.


A three-time All-America, All-SEC and All-Southeast Region selection, Rogers is the second pitcher in program history to win 100 games. She also was named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll.


Tofft Named National and SEC Player of the Week
Senior third baseman Stephanie Tofft was named NFCA National Player of the Week and SEC Player of the Week after she batted .700 with six runs scored, one double, three home runs and 10 RBI in UF’s sweep of Texas A&M. Tofft homered in each game, and recorded her second five-RBI game of the year on Saturday (also: Feb. 15 vs. Ohio State – 6 RBI).


Walton Captures Career Win No. 600
Florida Head Coach Tim Walton earned his 600th career victory on Easter Sunday, when the Gators swept No. 21/22 Texas A&M. Walton is 477-110 in his ninth year at UF (2006-present); he compiled a 123-64 record in three seasons at Wichita State (2003-05).


Gator Bites—Setting Up the Series
Florida is 41-8 (11-7 SEC), while Missouri has a 36-12 (12-6 SEC) record … The Gators lead the all-time series against the Tigers 4-1, including a victory in the teams’ only matchup in Gainesville on Feb. 7, 2004… UF and Mizzou met twice last season, with the Tigers winning on Feb. 22 at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., and the Gators claiming a 10-4 victory on May 11 in the SEC Tournament Championship Game in Lexington, Ky.


Looking Back: USF & Texas A&M

The Orange and Blue defeated USF, 17-1 on Wednesday to finish the regular season with a 30-1 record in nonconference games… UF improved to 7-1 this season against opponents from the state of Florida, and dealt USF its worst loss in school history… Every starter for the Gators had at least one hit, one run scored and one RBI in the midweek contest… Previously, Florida swept No. 21/22 Texas A&M in a three-game series over the weekend in College Station, Texas… Sophomore infielder Kelsey Stewart (Wichita, Kan.) led Florida with an .818 batting average (9x11) and three doubles, in addition to a home run, four runs scored and two RBI… Junior pitcher/first baseman Lauren Haeger (Peoria, Ariz.) homered on Saturday and Sunday; before the weekend, she had gone without a home since March 16… Junior shortstop Kathlyn Medina (Downey, Calif.) hit a grand slam on Saturday for her first home run of the year and her third career blast… Medina’s four RBI on Saturday are a career best… Rogers earned victories on Friday and Sunday, posting a 0.54 ERA (1 ER / 17.0 IP) with two walks and 12 strikeouts… The Orange and Blue’s 17-4 (5 innings) win on Saturday represented the most runs scored by an SEC team in a conference game this season.
