Quoting UF Head Coach Amanda Butler:

·         “As a basketball player, Carla gives us something that we don’t have in size on the perimeter. She also brings experience. She played, competed and succeeded at a very high level at Northwest Florida State College and we think she’s going to bring a dimension that we already have.”

·         “We love Carla’s championship experience.  She’s competed at the highest level after high school for the last two years and we know that experience will enhance what our current team gained last season at the NCAA Tournament.”

·         “Off the court, Carla is a great person with a personality that will fit perfectly with the rest of our team and will continue to help build our culture.”

Quoting NWF State College Head Coach Patrick Harrington:

·         “Carla is a very versatile, hard-working player who has had the opportunity to work on her game here at Northwest Florida State and expand her skill set. We played her on the wing, but she also has the ability to go inside, rebound and play with bigger players.”

·         “Carla’s greatest asset is her versatility is her greatest asset. How Florida plays and played this year with their frontcourt fits Carla very well and into what Coach Butler is trying to do. Hopefully, Carla can go in there and compete, work hard and be able to be a contributor to the Gators.”

·         On the moment he knew that Carla was a special player and would be able to compete on the next level:

·         “That moment came two years ago in the state tournament when we went to a timeout. There comes a time when a coach doesn’t have to talk at the timeout and the players talk. Carla was only a freshman then, but even at that time she had that unique ability to be a leader. She has a little bit of a chip on her shoulder and she was able to address the team instead of me having to address the team. I thought that was one of the things that was going to separate her going forward.”

·         “She has great internal character. I just hope that she takes advantage of the opportunity at the University of Florida and that Coach Butler is giving her. She’s a hard-working young lady, has a versatile skill set and I’m looking forward to watching her there.”
