The Gators will face the Lady Rattlers on Friday and the Wolfpack on Saturday.



Ranked No. 6 in the USA Today/NFCA survey and No. 8 in the / USA Softball poll, the University of Florida softball team will play two games this weekend against nonconference opponents at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. The Gators will face in-state foe Florida A&M Friday at 6 p.m. (all times Eastern) before they host NC State Saturday at 3 p.m. GatorVision will have live video of both contests. Friday radio coverage will be available on ESPN 850, while will have the broadcast of Saturday’s game. Live stats will be available via Gametracker, which is accessible on the schedule page on 


#VoteHannah: Rogers Chosen as Finalist for 2014 Softball Senior Class Award

Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) is one of 10 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award. Fans can vote at each day through May 12. Fan votes will be combined with ballots from media and coaches to determine the winner. The award will be presented at the Women’s College World Series.


A three-time All-America, All-SEC and All-Southeast Region selection, Rogers is the second pitcher in program history to win 100 games. She also was named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll.


Gator Bites—Quick Notables

Florida is 35-8, while Florida A&M has a 15-21 record and NC State stands at 25-10… The Gators have won all 10 matchups against the Rattlers in program history, including two wins under ninth-year Head Coach Tim Walton Against the Wolfpack, the Gators are 1-2 all-time, with all three games coming during Walton’s tenure… The Gators are 5-1 this season against in-state opponents, and 3-1 in contests with teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference.


Looking Back: FSU & Auburn

Florida has won four consecutive games, marking its longest winning streak since a five-game run March 8-14… Wednesday's 4-2 victory in Tallahassee marked Florida's seventh consecutive win at JoAnne Graf Field, dating back to the 2008 season… The Auburn series marked Florida’s first sweep since March 29-31, 2013 (at Ole Miss), and its first home sweep since March 22-23, 2013 (Arkansas)… Kirsti Merritt (Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.) is batting .385 (5x13) and slugging .923 during the winning streak, both tops among qualifying Gators (min. 1.0 plate appearance per team game); In the quartet of games, she also paces the team in home runs (2), total bases (12; double the second-highest total), hits and runs scored (4)…Bailey Castro (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) hit a two-run, pinch-hit home run Wednesday off All-American Lacey Waldrop, her first homer since a grand slam March 22 vs. Alabama… Rogers has factored in all four wins during the current streak; the senior earned victories with complete games on Friday and Wednesday, and an eight-inning shutout on Sunday; she also saved Lauren Haeger's win on Saturday.


Next Up

After the two contests against FAMU and NC State, the Gators are off until next weekend, when they will travel to College Station, Texas, to face No. 21/22 Texas A&M in a three-game series. ESPNU will carry the games on Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (6 p.m.), while GatorVision will have live video for subscribers on Sunday (1 p.m.).
