Tyson Alexander, a former Gator and son of UF head men’s golf coach Buddy Alexander, scored his second victory on the NGA Pro Golf Tour at Ocala National this afternoon.


Alexander fired rounds of 68-69-69-66 (272) to finish the event at 16-under and take first place honors, finishing two strokes ahead of three others who all tied for second.


The coaches’ son eagled on 17 in round four today to capture his low-round of 66. Alexander penciled in 20 birdies in the event, and shot par on 45 occasions.


Alexander has played on the NGA Golf Tour, a developmental men’s professional golf tour, for the past three years. He scored his first victory in March of 2012 with a six shot lead to seal the win at the Killearn Country Club Classic in Tallahassee.


This season, he finished second at the Members Only Shootout at the beginning of March and is yet to place outside of the top 35.
