No. 6/7 Florida faces No. 19 Auburn Friday thru Sunday at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium.



Ranked No. 6 in the USA Today/NFCA survey and No. 7 in the / USA Softball poll, the University of Florida softball team will host No. 19 Auburn this weekend at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. The series opens Friday at 6 p.m. (all times ET), with the middle game at 5 p.m. Saturday and the finale set for 1 p.m. Sunday. GatorVision will provide live video Friday and Sunday for subscribers, while ESPNU will televise Saturday’s game. #VoteHannah: Rogers Chosen as Finalist for 2014 Softball Senior Class Award

Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) is one of 10 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award. Fans can vote at each day through May 12. Fan votes will be combined with ballots from media and coaches to determine the winner. The award will be presented at the Women’s College World Series.


A three-time All-America, All-SEC and All-Southeast Region selection, Rogers is the second pitcher in program history to win 100 games. She also was named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll.


Gator Bites—Quick Notables

Florida is 31-8 (5-7 SEC), while Auburn has a 31-6-1 record (6-3 SEC)… The Gators have won 21 of 25 matchups with the Tigers under ninth-year Head Coach Tim Walton dating back to the 2006 season… In Gainesville, Walton holds a 10-1 record against AU, including 10 wins in a row following a loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader on March 28, 2006… Delanie Gourley (Lakeside, Calif.) tallied four strikeouts in two innings of work Wednesday against Florida State, giving her 102 K’s on the season. She is the third UF freshman in the last four years to reach the century mark in strikeouts.


Looking Back: FSU & Tennessee

Kelsey Stewart (Wichita, Kan.) led the Gators with a .500 average (6x12) in the four games, pacing UF in hits and steals (3) and tying for the team lead in RBI (4) and doubles (2)… Kirsti Merritt (Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.) had two hits in each of the first two games in Knoxville, hitting three home runs in the pair of contests after going without a homer for 17 games since March 1. The blasts were Merritt's first home runs in SEC play; her three home runs in conference games lead the Gators… Chelsea Herndon (Carrollton, Texas) tied her career high with two hits Wednesday vs. FSU, registering her third career multi-hit game and her second straight against a nonconference opponent (2 hits March 26 at UCF).

After the weekend series against Auburn, the Gators travel Wednesday (April 9) to Tallahassee to face in-state rival Florida State in their second consecutive midweek clash.
