Florida hosts SEC rival Alabama this weekend in a matchup of top-10 teams.



The No. 1/2 University of Florida softball team will host No. 9/7 Alabama this weekend in a three-game series at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium…Friday’s game is set for 6 p.m. (all times ET), with 1 p.m. contests Saturday and Sunday…Fox Sports Florida will broadcast the opener, while CSS has Saturday’s game and Sun Sports will carry the series finale…Radio coverage will be available on WGGG (1230 AM)…Live stats can be found on Gametracker, which is accessible via the softball schedule page on


Gator Bites—Quick Notables

Florida is 29-2 (4-2 SEC), while Alabama has a 25-4 record (6-0 SEC)…This weekend’s series pits the reigning SEC regular-season and tournament champions (Florida) against the current SEC leaders (Alabama)…The Orange and Blue lead the nation in fielding percentage at .987, and the Gators have not made an error in nine games…The three-game set marks Alabama’s first visit to Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium since 2011…Senior Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) was announced on Feb. 20 as one of 30 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, which will be presented at the Women’s College World Series.

Looking Back: Central Connecticut State & LSU

Every Florida starter had at least one hit in Tuesday's win over CCSU…Kelsey Stewart (Wichita, Kan.) hit .462 (6x13) in the four games against the Tigers and Blue Devils, with three runs scored, one double, one triple, one home run, two RBI and four stolen bases…The Gators took two of three games last weekend at LSU…Friday night saw a 7-6 win (8 innings) that featured a go-ahead grand slam from Taylore Fuller (Trenton, Fla.) with two strikes and two outs in the bottom of the seventh…On Sunday, UF run-ruled the Tigers 10-2 (5 innings).


Next Up

After the weekend series against the Crimson Tide, Florida will travel to Orlando on Wednesday (March 26) to face UCF at 6 p.m. The game was added to the schedule to partially make up for the two games that were canceled due to rain on Feb. 23, the final day of the University of Florida Lipton Invitational.
