Bridget Sloan picked up her fifth SEC Gymnast of the Week honor on Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the second consecutive week, a Gator turned in the season’s top all-around total in the nation. And for the second straight week, that performance gives the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week honor to a Gator. Sophomore Bridget Sloan (Pittsboro, Ind.) is the SEC Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. In the final weekly honors release of the season, Alabama’s Kaitlyn Clark is the SEC Specialist of the Week and her teammate Katie Bailey and LSU’s Ashleigh Gnat shared the SEC Freshman of the Week honor.

Sloan’s total of 39.825 at Missouri matches the nation’s top total of 2014 turned in by teammate Alaina Johnson on March 7 in the home finale versus West Virginia. The two now share the Florida all-around record.

Sloan’s tally is the top regular-season all-around total in road action since LSU’s April Burkholder turned in a 39.875 at Texas Woman’s University in 2003.

The total gave Sloan her eighth consecutive all-around win and the 15th of her career.

The nation’s four highest all-around totals have been turned in 12 times in 2014 – and Sloan has posted half of those marks.

Sloan also shared the Missouri vault title with teammate Kytra Hunter at 9.95. She used a season-best 9.975 to win bars and a 9.95 to win beam. She leads the Gators in 2014 with 27 event titles.

The SEC Gymnast of the Week is the fifth such honor for Sloan this season. She is the third different Gator to receive the honor in 2014, as Hunter picked up the first of the season and shared the third with Sloan. Johnson was the Week 9 recipient. A Gator has been named to one of the three SEC weekly honors nine of the 10 weeks of 2014 campaign.
