Ranked No. 1 in the ESPN.com / USA Softball and NFCA/USA Today national polls, the University of Florida softball team will host Mercer in a doubleheader Wednesday at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. First pitch for Game 1 of the twinbill is scheduled for 4 p.m. EDT….GatorVision will have live video for subscribers, and both games can be heard on WGGG (1230 AM), with former Gator All-American Megan Bush joining Mike Gillespie on the call. In addition, fans can follow the action through Gametracker, which is available on the GatorZone.com schedule page.

 

Gator Bites—Quick Notables

Florida is 24-1  on the season (2-1 in SEC play)…The Gators’ 24-1 mark is tied with the 2011 squad for the best record in program history thru 25 games…Wednesday’s doubleheader marks the final two games in a stretch of 16 consecutive contests for the Gators within the state of Florida, dating back to Feb. 19.Senior Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) was announced on Feb. 20 as one of 30 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, which will be presented at the Women’s College World Series.

 

Looking Back: Ole Miss & Boston College

The Gators took two of three games from Ole Miss over the weekend to win their first SEC series…UF defeated Boston College 7-3 on Tuesday, winning its second game in three days against an ACC opponent after beating Maryland last Sunday…Sophomore Kelsey Stewart (Wichita, Kan.) hit .600 (9x15) during the week with six runs scored, two doubles, three RBI and two stolen bases…In Saturday’s win over Ole Miss, the sophomore set career highs with four hits and four runs scored…Stewart enters Wednesday's doubleheader with an eight-game hitting streak and a 25-game reached-base streak; UF’s leadoff hitter has reached base in every game this season…Freshman Delanie Gourley (Lakeside, Calif.) allowed no runs over 10.0 innings in two appearances against the Rebels, extending her streak of scoreless innings to 20.0 IP dating back to March 1 vs. Fordham…The freshman lefty pitched a shutout for the second straight start on Sunday, marking the second shutout of her career…Junior Lauren Haeger (Peoria, Ariz.) drew four walks against Boston College pitching, tying her career high (4/3/13 vs. UCF).
