Gainesville, Fla.

Holding steady at the top spot, the Gators men’s basketball squad checks in at the No. 1 position in the Associated Press and Coaches’ Poll for the second-consecutive week.

For just the second time in program history, Florida has earned top honors for multiple weeks. The Orange and Blue spent eight weeks as the number one squad in the 2006-07 season, going an impressive 14-2 and are currently 2-0 while on top.

Florida claimed their eighth consecutive road victory, defeating Vanderbilt last Tuesday and also improved to a program-record 21-game winning streak after handling LSU at home on Saturday. UF’s 16 SEC wins are the most conference wins in school history.

The Gators will attempt to become just the fourth team in SEC history to win 17 league games when they face South Carolina in Columbia tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Florida returns to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center for their last home contest of the regular season on Saturday when they take on No. 25 Kentucky. Fans can click here to view ticket options and purchase available tickets.
