Quoting UF Head Coach Amanda Butler:

On Vanderbilt:

“They are very good, as they always are. They are very well coached. They play well at home. They’ve got arguably the best player in our league in Christina Foggie. Jasmine Lister and her are the dynamic duo of that team. The rest of the team does a great job with their roles and doing them to a ‘t’.”

On the uniqueness of Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gym:

“Communication becomes even more important there because of the gym. They have to rely on one another and we can’t allow it to be a distraction. It’s unique and something we don’t see that often but we can’t let it be a determining factor.”

On Vanderbilt’s outside shooting similar to a Missouri team that hit 12-25 three-pointers vs. UF:

“Going into the Missouri game we emphasized their shooters and had prepared the way we needed to to cover them. Maybe the best preparation for Vanderbilt is having done that for Missouri and failed in the game and failed in the way we carried it over from practice. Maybe, we’ll see a greater sense of urgency and heightened awareness due to having learned that lesson hard the first time. At the same time, Missouri and Vanderbilt are two completely different teams. We’re not going to oversimplify playing against Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt by just saying that if we do the things we did against Missouri better, than we’ll win. It won’t be that easy at all. Vanderbilt is a lot more complex than that. We have to play a complete game and make it about Florida.”

On excitement of the SEC race being so tight with two games remaining:

“No question. It’s great for our fans. It’s great for our league. It really showcases the strength of 1 through whatever seed you want to go to for how close it is and how everyone has beaten everyone. It makes the players have a greater sense of valuing every possession and understanding not just every game, but every half, every possession, every four-minute segment will have an impact on big things.”
